  • Patent number: 8371582
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a main body having a side wall in which an opening is formed; a cover for opening and closing the opening; and a guide member for guiding a printed recording sheet, arranged in a position facing to the opening. The guide member is pivotally supported at its lower end portion on the main body. When the cover is being opened and the guide member is pivoted around its lower end portion as a pivot axis so that an upper end portion of the guide member is tilted toward the opened cover and into a lying-back position, a second sheet-output passage is formed which extends from the image forming unit toward the opened cover through the opening. The guide member is movable to a position away from the opened cover when it is in the lying-back position.

  • Patent number: 8331826
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a cover opening/closing structure includes a first cover and a second cover which are rotatably attached to a main body. A rotation locus of an end part of the second cover interferes with a rotation locus of an end part of the first cover. At least one of the first cover and the second cover includes an operating surface which, when the second cover is rotated from a closed position toward an open position in a half-opened state of the first cover in which the end part of the first cover interferes with the rotation locus of the end part of the second cover, receives a pressing force in a direction causing the first cover to become either one of an open position and a closed position by the end part of the first cover contacting the end part of the second cover.

  • Patent number: 7322762
Abstract: A tape-like object feeding device in accordance with the present invention comprises a feeding mechanism 7 for feeding a tape-like object toward an outlet and a cutting mechanism 8 for cutting the tape-like object fed by the feeding mechanism. An ejection roller 62 is placed at a position on the outlet 9 side of the cutting mechanism 8. The ejection roller 62 ejects the tape-like object cut off by the cutting mechanism 8 through the outlet by revolving while making contact with the tape-like object. The feeding device further comprises control means which controls at least one of revolving speed, revolving time and revolving timing of the ejection roller 62 in the ejection of the tape-like object depending on at least one selected from the type of the tape-like object, the thickness of the tape-like object, the width of the tape-like object and a feeding length of the tape-like object by the feeding mechanism 7.

  • Patent number: 6341548
Abstract: A cutter shaft 40 provided with a cutter 43 as its lower tip is freely vertically movably disposed in a guide cylinder portion 17a of a cutter holder 17. A horizontal support body 47 is supported in a hollow case portion 17b. A large diameter first steel ball 45 and a small diameter second steel ball 46 are supported in the horizontal support body 47 separated by a suitable distance. The horizontal support body 47 supports the steel balls 45, 46 exposed from a lower end of the horizontal support body 47 but in a manner that prevents the steel balls 45, 46 from falling out of the horizontal support body 47. A cover body 48 is fixed on the upper surface of the horizontal support body 47 to prevent the first and second steel balls 45, 46 from moving in a vertical direction. The side edges of the horizontal support body 47 protrude from guide grooves 50a, 50b formed inside surfaces of the hollow case portion 17b. An adjustment screw screwingly engaged in a lid portion 17c presses downward on the cover body 48.

  • Patent number: 5159350
Abstract: Ink on an ink tape is melted and transferred onto a print tape by a thermal print head, while an electric motor is driven to feed the print tape. When the number of rotations of the motor reaches a predetermined value, a controller judges that the lead print position of the tape has reached a cutter and stops rotating the motor. At this time, operating the cutter can cut away a blank area preceding the lead print position. Continuing the printing without operating the cutter can eliminate blank areas between the multiple printed portions.

  • Patent number: 4832517
Abstract: A printing apparatus in which a cam member is connected to a type wheel by means of a rotating shaft so that the cam member rotates in a body with the wheel. The wheel is rotated by means of a motor for type selection. A pair of ribbon vibrators for supporting a correction ribbon are connected to the cam member by means of an operating plate attached to one of the vibrators. As the cam member rotates, a cam follower pin at the distal end portion of the operating plate alternatively engages one of first, second, and third cam portions formed on the cam member. In a normal printing operation, the correction ribbon is held in a nonprinting position, with the cam follower pin in the third cam portion, while the cam member is rotating in one direction. When the cam member rotates in the other direction, the pin is moved to the second cam portion via the first cam portion, so that the correction ribbon is held in a printing position. In this state, type selection and print correction are performed.

  • Patent number: 4701579
Abstract: Disclosed is a data entry keyboard which has a multitude of depressible keys which are selectively depressed for the entry of predetermined data. In the keyboard, an insulating member is sandwiched between a first substrate having stationary electrodes and a flexible second substrate having movable electrodes. The stationary and movable electrodes face one another through apertures formed in the insulating member. Upper and lower marginal surface portions of the insulating member, including the respective peripheral edges of the apertures, are kept parallel to the first and second substrates corresponding thereto by a plurality of protuberances on the substrates so that voids with a predetermined width are left between the marginal surface portions and the individual substrates. The movable electrodes of the second substrate are electrically fixed, in the form of a cantilever each, to the extreme end portions of branch conductor strips which diverge from a main conductor strip at right angles thereto.
