  • Patent number: 5518781
Abstract: Stripping fingers for use in a copying machine, molded of a liquid crystal polyester resin composition made up of a liquid crystal polyester having a flow temperature of 340.degree. C. or higher and titanium oxide whiskers. The stripping fingers have excellent heat deflection resistance, heat aging resistance, thermal shock resistance, heat load resistance, low attack on the counter roller, good shape retainability of the finger edges, and good non-stick property against toner. Coating with PFA at 330.degree. C. or higher on the stripping finger increases non-tackiness.

  • Patent number: 5435348
Abstract: (Object) The object is to provide a valve assembly which has a valve body or bodies whose sliding contact surface has a surface roughness not increasing during use, which is less likely to get damaged by the invasion of foreign matter, and which has an excellent mechanical strength such as creep resistance, so that the water cut-off property and operability are improved.(Structure)The valve assembly has a valve seat formed with inlet passages, a valve body kept in sliding contact with the valve seat and formed with flow passages. At least one of the valve seat and the valve body is formed of a resin composition comprising 35-90% by weight of a polycyanoarylether resin, and 10-65% by weight of carbon fiber having an average fiber diameter of not more than 8 .mu.m. Part of the carbon fiber may be replaced by a heat-resistant inorganic powdery filler having an average particle diameter of not more than 20 .mu.m. The heat-resistant inorganic powdery filler and the carbon fiber account for 10-65% by weight.

  • Patent number: 5349205
Abstract: A thin-film transistor array is suited for the manufacture of an image display utilizing liquid crystal. In the thin-film transistor array, a first electrically conductive layer made principally of aluminum is selectively formed on one surface of a substrate. The first electrically conductive layer contains, as an impurity, a high-melting point metal which can be anodized. An oxide layer is formed by an anodization process on the first electrically conductive layer, and the first insulating layer is formed on the oxide layer so as to overlay the substrate. Furthermore, a first semiconductor layer made principally of silicon is selectively formed on the insulating layer, and a pair of second semiconductor layers made principally of silicon containing phosphorus are formed on the first semiconductor layer. A pair of second electrically conductive layers are formed on the paired second semiconductor layers, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4690638
Abstract: A bucket cooled by circulating water and scrap preheating apparatus incorporating the bucket are disclosed. The bucket comprises a bucket-shaped container which contains scrap to be preheated and through which an exhaust gas from an electric furnace is passed to preheat the scrap contained therein, a cooling water passageway which surrounds the periphery of said container, and water supply and exhaust ports which are connected to said cooling water passageway, cooling water being supplied to and exhausted from the bucket during preheating of the scrap contained therein.
