  • Publication number: 20130070023
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a recording head and a carriage. The carriage includes a slide member that is provided so that the position of the slide member relative to a carriage body is changeable in a direction where a gap between the recording head and a medium changes, and moves together with carriage body in the scanning direction, a gap adjusting cam that is interposed between the slide member and the carriage body, and, upon reception of the dead weight of the carriage, changes in the scanning direction relative to the slide member and the carriage body to change the gap, and a restriction section that restricts at least one of expansion of the interval between the carriage body and the gap adjusting cam and expansion of the interval between the gap adjusting cam and the slide member in such a way as to keep a predetermined gap.

  • Publication number: 20130050335
Abstract: An ink jet printer includes a movable carriage supporting a recording head, a cam member adjusting the height position of the carriage to adjust the distance between the paper and the recording head, a cap member that can abut the recording head, and an engagement member that can engage with the carriage in a case where the carriage moves from a printing area to a head opposing position. The cam member adjusts the height position of the carriage when the distance between the paper and the recording head is between a first distance in which the carriage does not engage with the engagement member and a second distance in which the carriage engages with the engagement member. The carriage is decelerated while moving, and the deceleration timing is earlier for the second distance than for the first distance.

  • Publication number: 20130050333
Abstract: An ink jet printer includes a carriage configured to be movable supporting a recording head that can eject ink onto paper, a cam member adjusting the height position of the carriage to adjust the distance between the paper and the recording head, a cap member abutting the recording head along with a biasing force, and an engagement member placed to oppose the cap member with the carriage therebetween and pressing the carriage to the cap member side. The sum of the weight of the carriage itself and the pressing force with which the engagement member presses the carriage is equal to or greater than the biasing force acting on the carriage through the abutting of the cap member.

  • Patent number: 7761037
Abstract: An image formation apparatus includes a containing section that contains a developer and that has an opening at which a developer carrier is exposed. The developer carrier rotates at a faster first speed or a slower second speed. When a detected height of developer in the containing section is at a replenishment start level and the developer carrier is rotating at the first speed, a replenishing member replenishes developer until the height of the developer reaches a replenishment end level. When the detected height of developer is at the replenishment start level and the developer carrier is rotating at the second speed, the developer is replenished by a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 7505715
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has an image carrier with rotary shafts extending from both ends that are rotatably supported on an apparatus body by bearings. Gap members fixed to both end portions of a charging roller are brought in contact with the peripheral surface of the image carrier with some pressure to form a charge gap between the image carrier and the charging roller so that the charging roller charges the image carrier in a non-contact state with the charge gap. The gap members have a small-diameter portion on the inside thereof and a large-diameter portion on the outside thereof such that the small-diameter portions face each other.

  • Patent number: 7460815
Abstract: A charge roller includes a core, a resistive layer disposed on a circumferential surface of the core to charge an image-bearing member without contact, and gap members formed of tape-shaped films. These films are fixed to both ends of the charge roller by winding each of the films in a direction opposite a rotational direction of the charge roller in use and perpendicular to the axial direction thereof to form n layers (wherein n?2) extending in the axial direction at every position in the circumferential direction of the charge roller. The gap members are pressed against a circumferential surface of an image-bearing member to define a charge gap between the image-bearing member and the charge roller.
