  • Patent number: 6398358
Abstract: An ink jet textile printing method forms an image on cloths in an image forming operation by repeating a step of applying ink on the cloths from an ink discharge port of a recording head, the recording head relatively main-scanning to form the image in a main scan direction, and a step of relatively conveying the cloths in a sub-scan direction. The method includes the steps of forming the image on the cloths by applying ink on the cloths from the recording head based on image data. The method further includes the step of temporarily stopping the image forming operation in accordance with an indication to effect a temporary halt of the image forming operation. When the temporary halt is indicated while the recording head performs a main scan in the image forming operation, the image forming operation by the main scan is completed, and then the temporary halt of the image forming operation is effected by moving the recording head to a standby position.

  • Patent number: 6386673
Abstract: A test image is formed by performing overlap printing using a plurality of printing heads provided for a printing agent of one color. Density data attained by reading this test image is averaged. On the basis of this average value, a common correction is performed for drive signals for the printing heads. This makes it possible to perform head density unevenness correction at a high efficiency in performing overlap printing by using the plurality of printing heads.

  • Patent number: 6359695
Abstract: An image output apparatus according to the present invention is able to additionally output another image data item to a desired position to which subject image data is outputted and able to repeatedly output the same image or repeatedly output the image while rotating the image. A setting unit sets the image repetition portion, the number of the repetitions and the rotation of the image. An image read by a reader is stored into a memory, and a reading counter changes the reading address of the memory in accordance with set information. Hence, a desired repeated image or the rotated image is outputted to a printer.

  • Publication number: 20010043347
Abstract: When an magnified and synthesized image is finally printed on a printing medium based on an original image and a character font data, linear magnifying processing is executed with the aid of a software on the host computer side for the original image optically read by a scanner. In addition, vector magnifying processing is executed for font data likewise with the aid of a software, and moreover, synthesizing processing is executed for the font data. At this time, forming processing such as edge emphasizing or the like can be executed after completion of the vector magnifying processing. Synthesizing data are additionally magnified in a printer with the aid of a hardware, and subsequently, the magnified and synthesized image is outputted to the printer for performing a printing operation by the latter. An magnifying rate applicable to the host computer and the printer can be determined such that productivity of the image forming system is maximized.

  • Patent number: 6270189
Abstract: An ink-jet printed product is formed by printing an image with a plurality of similar color inks having different concentrations and a special ink having a single concentration. In the product, graininess resulting from ink dots is decreased for all hues of the printed image. A decision is made as to whether or not a hue of an image to be printed can be printed with inks without the special ink of a color (for example, special color BL (blue)) having a single concentration. When it is decided that the hue of the image is to be printed with inks without the special color ink, data on ink color BL (blue) is decomposed into data on C (cyan) and data on M (magenta). The hue can be printed without the color BL, thereby significantly decreasing graininess in a portion having this hue.

  • Patent number: 6224190
Abstract: An ink-jet recording method which hardly causes ink to blur. To this end, there are provided a correction table (30) which contains the number of ejection ink dots of each color limited in advance according to the combination of the numbers of ejection ink dots instructed for respective colors in a unit area in such a way that the total number of ejection ink dots does not exceed a predetermined limit value, and an error table (31) which contains the errors which may be produced when determining the limited numbers of ejection ink dots of the colors and which are previously calculated and determined according to the combination of the numbers of ejection ink dots instructed for the colors in the unit area. Before printing, a corrected number of ejection ink dots for each color in each unit area is determined from the correction table (30) according to the combination of the numbers of ejection ink dots on which each head is instructed based on binary image data (S25).

  • Patent number: 6174039
Abstract: A predetermined pattern is printed on a recording sheet 9 for monitoring by using a recording head, and read by a reading device 11 so that abnormal recording elements are detected. Thus, a non-defective image is obtained in such a way that based on this detection result, image data to be supplied to the abnormal recording element is moved to image data of other recording elements to complement the recording. Despite the occurrence of abnormal recording elements, a desired non-defective image can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6126266
Abstract: Replacement of a recording head on a recording apparatus is detected on the basis of a serial number allocated to each recording head. The recording head also carries head characteristic information such as color information, shading information and so forth. When the recording head is replaced with a new one, the head characteristic information of the newly mounted recording head is automatically stored, so that head driving conditions are automatically determined to optimize the recording conditions without requiring any manual adjustment. Recovery operation is automatically executed when replacement of the recording head is detected, so that required recording conditions are recovered without manual instructions.
