  • Patent number: 4695036
Abstract: A screw bar for connecting a nut member and a bearing member of a pantograph-type jack includes a cylindrical-shaped bar member having a joint portion formed integrally with the bar member at one end and a threaded portion formed integrally on the bar member at the other end. The nut member of the jack is threadably engageable with the threaded portion of the screw bar, and the bearing member of the jack is pivotally mountable on the bearing support portion of the screw bar. The maximum outer diameter of the threaded portion is less than or equal to the desired diameter of the bearing support portion so that the bearing member can be mounted on the screw bar from the threaded-portion end. Preferably, the joint portion includes a flange portion having an outer diameter greater then the desired diameter and the bearing support portion is provided with a lug portion.

  • Patent number: 4659141
Abstract: A device for automatically stopping the powered closure of the slidable panel of a vehicle sun roof as the panel approaches its fully closed position under the operation of a driving apparatus. A limit switch attached to the housing interrupts the flow of energy to the driving apparatus when engaged by cooperating structure formed on a cam rotated by an off-set bearing and first and second reduction gears of the driving apparatus. The cam plate is farther driven by a pin engaging a channel within the cam plate. The cooperating structure, which may be a groove or a projection, is so located on the cam as to engage the limit switch only when the slidable panel is close to its fully closed position.

  • Patent number: 4630179
Abstract: A retractable lamp which includes a lamp pivotally held at a first axis to be extended out of and retracted into a housing, a lampcover pivotally held at a second axis to open and close an opening of the housing for exposing and retracting the lamp, and a swing member for imparting motions to the lamp and the lampcover. The retractable lamp can reduce the open area between the lampcover and the lamp which are exposed out of the housing. Due to the reduction of the open area, a reduction in air resistance and noise is thus created and an improvement in the fuel efficiency of an automobile can be realized.

  • Patent number: 4468063
Abstract: A drive mechanism for a vehicle sunroof having a roof panel, the drive mechanism providing for accurate and reliable shut-off of the sunroof drive motor when the roof panel reaches either its fully closed or fully open position. The drive mechanism includes a rotatable cam plate which is mounted directly on the housing of the drive mechanism, the drive mechanism being installable as a unit in the sunroof assembly and the cam plate actuating limit switches for controlling the motor.

  • Patent number: 4437143
Abstract: A retractable headlamp assembly for automobiles in which a headlamp, pivotally mounted on the automobile frame, is operatively coupled to the rotatable shaft of a motor by a link mechanism. The motor, operating through the link mechanism, is energizable to cause the headlamp to be moved angularly between a first position at which the headlamp projects out of the front hood of the automobile, and a second position at which the headlamp is retracted within the front hood. An adjustable stop is provided to stop the headlamp at the first position, which adjustable stop is adjusted to bring the first position into conformity with an angularly displaced position of the rotatable motor shaft, which is displaced through a slip angle from a normal stopping position. Such an arrangement assures that the headlamp can be stopped at a fixed position at all times for emitting a correctly directed beam of light irrespective of the varying positions at which the motor can stop.

  • Patent number: 4432040
Abstract: A retractable head lamp structure for automobiles in which a head lamp assembly is mounted on the automobile body for pivotable movement about a pivot axis between an extended position and a retracted position. In the retracted position, the lens surface of the head lamp assembly is located along the body surface. The pivot axis is inclined downwardly and rearwardly with respect to a horizontal transverse line as seen in transverse outward direction of the body so that the lens surface is substantially flush with the body surface in the retracted position.
