  • Patent number: 7460502
Abstract: The CM controller 101 outputs times at which signals are sent to various communication terminal apparatuses in a compressed mode based on information on the compressed mode sent from a host station such as a control station apparatus to the scheduler 102, coder 105 and modulator 106. The scheduler 102 decides times (order) at which packet data is sent to the respective communication terminal apparatuses based on priority information such as channel conditions and times at which signals are sent in the compressed mode and outputs schedule information indicating the times for creating this packet data to the switch circuit 104. The switch circuit 104 outputs the packet data to be sent to the communication terminal apparatuses sequentially to the coder 105 according to the schedule created by the scheduler 102.

  • Patent number: 7385934
Abstract: A transmission rate determining method that enables assignment of transmission rate (modulation scheme and coding rate) to be optimized with high accuracy in the AMC technique. In the method, in a base station, Doppler frequency detector 117 detects the Doppler frequency (moving speed) of each mobile station. MCS assignment section 125 corrects a relational expression of MCS (coding rate and modulation scheme) and CIR based on the Doppler frequency (moving speed) obtained in Doppler frequency detector 117, for example, corrects a threshold in CIR, and determines MCS optimal for CIR report value. Results of assignment in MCS assignment section 125 are output to coding section 101 and modulation section 103.

  • Patent number: 7295538
Abstract: A base station apparatus (radio transmission apparatus) transmits a radio signal of data to a mobile terminal apparatus (communication apparatus of a transmission destination). The mobile terminal apparatus receiving the radio signal determines (ST1010) information (CQI) on a downlink transmission rate enabling reception in the mobile terminal apparatus based on reception quality such as CIR to transmit to the base station apparatus. The base station apparatus extracts a CQI value from the received radio signal, while obtaining likelihood of received data (ST1020), and corrects the CQI value based on the likelihood (ST1030). Then, based on the corrected CQI value, the base station apparatus determines a downlink transmission rate (ST1040).

  • Patent number: 7266096
Abstract: Error detection section 109 carries out error detection using demodulated data and outputs an error rate to SIR versus error rate estimation section 110. SIR versus error rate estimation section 110 estimates an SIR versus error rate and outputs the result of decision as to whether the correction of the target SIR value is necessary or not to target SIR correction section 111. Target SIR correction section 111 corrects the target SIR value based on the decision result. The information on the demodulation capability of a BTS is output to G parameter control section 112 and G parameter control section 112 determines an optimal gain factor. A G parameter indicating the determined gain factor is output to multiplexing section 107 of the BTS. The G parameter is output to SIR versus error rate estimation section 110.

  • Patent number: 7215642
Abstract: In a receiving side apparatus 150, reception quality of receive data is measured by a reception quality measurement section 157, receive data errors are detected by an error detection section 156, and when an error is detected a retransmission request signal and reception quality signal are transmitted multiplexed with transmit data by a transmit frame creation section 158. In a transmitting side apparatus 100, when a retransmission request signal is received a capacity necessary for demodulating data in a receiving side apparatus 150 is detected from a reception quality signal by a scheduling section 110, and data is retransmitted at that capacity. By this means it is possible to reduce the number of data retransmissions during transmission and reception, and to improve transmission efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7039003
Abstract: Symbol 102 that is spread with the only short spreading code and inserted in synchronism with a long spreading code is specified by detecting the correlation with only the short spreading code. Next, another short spreading code indicative of a timing of reverse and forward link switching is specified, where the short spreading code is multiplexed at the same position as that of the detected symbol. The detection of the symbols spread with only these spreading codes enables to acquire synchronization of the long spreading code, synchronization of switching of reverse and forward links, and synchronization of a transmission frame. It is thereby possible to reduce synchronization acquisition time for the long spreading and an easy planning of base station locations without decreasing the frequency utilization efficiency.
