  • Publication number: 20050170083
Abstract: There is provided a method of manufacturing a window having at least one of a radio wave stealth property and an electromagnetic wave shield property comprising: a step for forming a thin-film composed of a conductive material on the surface of a transparent window member having a curved surface, and a step for forming the thin-film into a mesh shape. As a result, it is, possible to manufacture, at lower cost, a window having a radio wave stealth property that scatters radio waves in various directions so as not to be detected by radar, while transparency to visible light is improved, as well as a window having an electromagnetic wave shield property that effectively prevents harmful electromagnetic waves, except for visible radiation, from invasion into an aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20040180242
Abstract: An inexpensive high temperature oxidation resistant material for spacecraft, having a higher heat resistance than a conventional oxidation resistant material of a silicon carbide coating system, which may be readily formed into a desired shape, a hot structure part including the oxidation resistant material for spacecraft, a spacecraft provided with the hot structure part, and a method for producing the oxidation resistant material for spacecraft are provided. The oxidation resistant material for spacecraft includes a ceramic material in which silicon carbide is included in zirconium boride. The method for producing the oxidation resistant material for spacecraft includes the steps of including SiC in zirconium boride, and molding by means of a normal pressure sintering method.

  • Patent number: 6579636
Abstract: A high temperature oxidation resistant coating performs a self-repairing function of self-repairing the cracks under a heated environment and has low catalytic properties. The high temperature oxidation resistant coating is prepared by dispersing silicate particles containing a composite oxide consisting of an oxide of a lanthanoide series rare earth element including yttrium and silicon oxide into a glass-based matrix.

  • Patent number: 5266398
Abstract: An amorphous thin film as a solid lubricant having a low coefficient of friction. It is composed of silicon (Si), oxygen (O), carbon (C), and hydrogen (H), and has a composition defined by the formula: Si.sub.x (O.sub.m, C.sub.n, H.sub.l-m-n).sub.1-x where, x=0.03-0.02, m=0.05-0.5, =0.1-0.9, and 0.6.ltoreq.m+n.ltoreq.0.95. This thin film exhibits extremely low friction stably from the beginning of sliding. It has superior wear resistance owing to its high hardness.

  • Patent number: 5198285
Abstract: A hard and lubricant thin film of amorphous carbon-hydrogen-silicon and a process of producing the same. The thin film comprises carbon and hydrogen as major components, the balance mainly containing a silicon-based material, and it contains diamond-like carbon. The content of hydrogen is from 30 to 50% by atomic and the content of carbon is 70% by atomic or more with respect to the total composition except hydrogen. An iron-based metallic material having the thin film of amorphous carbon-hydrogen-silicon formed thereon and a process for producing the same are also provided. The iron-based matallic material is very hard and has a small coefficient of friction.
