  • Publication number: 20080317348
Abstract: An original document image is inputted as multi valued image data (original image data) from an input unit. The multivalued image data is binarized by a binary image generation unit. Then, layout analysis is performed based on the binary image data. Based on the layout information, a partial image having text-attribute is extracted and a partial image having non-text-attribute are extracted from the multi-valued image data. One of the partial images is encrypted, and the encrypted data is stored with the partial image that is not encrypted and the layout information.

  • Patent number: 7426054
Abstract: The present invention enables reduction in the amount of data of a document image while maintaining a layout of the document image, and enables suppression of image quality deterioration when reproducing the document image. An original document image is inputted as multivalued image data (original image data) from an image input unit. The multivalued image data is binarized by a binary image output unit. Then, layout analysis is performed based on the binary image data. With respect to text areas, character recognition is performed on the binary image, then the recognition data is outputted. With respect to non-text areas, the binary image data is used without further processing. With respect to a multivalued image, e.g., photographs or the like, the image data is compressed with an appropriate condition and stored.

  • Publication number: 20070285724
Abstract: When image formation is to be carried out based on multiple print jobs that have been inputted, multi-imposition print data is generated in which the multiple print jobs are arranged in a single sheet layout, and cutting sheet data is generated based on positions of the multiple print jobs arranged in the single sheet layout in the generated multi-imposition print data. Then, control is performed over printing of the generated multi-imposition print data and insertion printing of the generated cutting sheet data.
