  • Patent number: 8033575
Abstract: A quick connector can surely prevent incomplete connection of a tube thereto and is provided with a retainer which can be easily returned to its releasing position without being subject to restrictive conditions including working space when the tube connected to the quick connector needs to be removed from the quick connector. A retainer 16 is provided with arms 31a and 31b extending so as to be in contact with diametrically opposite parts, respectively, of the outer surface of a housing 12. Locking hooks 34a and 34b are formed on free end parts of the arms 31a and 31b, respectively. First stoppers 35a and 35b are formed on the outer surface of the housing 12 so as to engage with the locking hooks 34a and 34b of the retainer 16 such that the retainer 16 can be moved from the releasing position only in a direction in which the retainer 16 is pressed into the housing 12.

  • Patent number: 7566077
Abstract: A quick-connect coupling has a retainer for retaining a tube in a coupling body. The retainer is pressed in the coupling body so as to lock the tube in place in the coupling body. The retainer cannot be fully pressed in the coupling body and projects from the coupling body to indicate that the tube is not properly connected to the coupling body unless the tube is inserted completely in the coupling body. The retainer is combined with complete connection verifying legs that enables the retainer to be able to be pressed in the coupling body when an annular ridge formed in an end part of a tube inserted in the coupling body is advanced beyond a position where the retainer is able to engage with the annular ridge.

  • Publication number: 20020158465
Abstract: A checking device 60 includes a C-shaped member 61 seated on the end face 33 of a retainer 30, a ring member 62 inserted into the retainer 30 and a pair of connecting members 63 connecting the C-shaped member 61 and the ring member 62. Each of the connecting members 63 has a weak portion 64, such as a V-notch. After the spool 42 has advanced beyond the pawls 32, the weak portion 64 is broken by a second-tube-inserting force exerted on the connecting members 63 via the spool 42 and the ring member 62 on which the spool 42 is seated.
