Patent number: 4885762Abstract: A telephone apparatus has abbreviated number input means for inputting an abbreviated number in a predetermined form, password input means for inputting a password in a predetermined form, a telephone number memory section for storing terminating subscribers' telephone numbers in correspondence with combinations of abbreviated numbers and passwords, and a control section for selecting and outputting a terminating subscriber's telephone number from the telephone number memory section in response to a dialing start signal and on the basis of a combination of an abbreviated number and a password included in the dialing start signal. Thus, since the telephone number memory section is accessed on the basis of a combination of an abbreviated number and a password, even if an abbreviated number is known, the corresponding terminating subscriber's telephone number is not read out unless an appropriate password is input.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1988Date of Patent: December 5, 1989Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Katsuo Suzuki, Kazuyuki Umebayashi

Patent number: 4847887Abstract: A telephone system in the vehicle comprises a detectable handset including a microphone and speakers, a pad positioned near a vehicle driver for holding the detachable handset, amplifiers for amplifying a voice signal from the microphone, a position detector for detecting a distance between the handset and the pad, and a gain controller for controlling the gain of the amplifiers in response to the distance detected by the position detector. When the handset is held on the pad, the position detector detects that the handset is positioned adjacent the pad. At this time, the gain controller increases the gain of the amplifiers, and consequently, the voice from the vehicle driver is clearly received. Therefore, a vehicle passenger especially the driver, can use the telephone system while grasping a steering wheel with both hands. When the handset is removed from the pad, the position detector detects that the hand set is positioned remote from the pad.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1988Date of Patent: July 11, 1989Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Katsuo Suzuki, Kazuyuki Umebayashi

Patent number: 4638287Abstract: Key switches, a plane type CRT display, a modulator, a demodulator, etc. are arranged in a control board mounted on a steering wheel, while a TV camera, a character information generator, a modulator, a demodulator, etc., are arranged on the side of the vehicle body. Electric circuits on the control board and the vehicle body are interconnected through slip rings and brushes, and display information is transmitted from the vehicle body side to the control board in accordance with operation of the key switches on the control board, thus permitting the information to be displayed on the control board. A signal corresponding to operation of the key switches and a display information signal are made to have different frequencies from each other and then transmitted through the same line in a superimposed fashion.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 1984Date of Patent: January 20, 1987Assignee: Aisin Seiki KabushikikaishaInventors: Kazuyuki Umebayashi, Takahiro Yamada

Patent number: 4629828Abstract: Microphones and key switches are provided on an operation board mounted on a steering wheel, and an audio signal as well as a control signal generated therefrom are sent to a road-vehicle stationary unit through a light transmission means including plural pairs of light emitting and receiving elements, thereby to supply the audio signal to be transmitted and to make sending/receiving control for a radio communication apparatus incorporated in the road-vehicle stationary unit. The operation board is mounted in a floating relation with respect to the steering wheel and an optical path of the light transmission means is formed in plural number, so that all these optical paths are not interrupted by spokes for supporting the steering wheel simultaneously at the least.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1983Date of Patent: December 16, 1986Assignee: Aisin Seiki KabushikikaishaInventor: Kazuyuki Umebayashi

Patent number: 4614839Abstract: Dial keys and other keys for a telephone set are provided on an operation board mounted on a steering wheel so as to make an answer-back in accordance with dial operation. The answer-back is effected in terms of numeral values, dial codes or the name of the other party corresponding to each dial code in accordance with operation of the corresponding numeral keys. If a confirmation key is not operated within a predetermined time after an answer-back of the name of the other party, the shortened dial code is updated to another adjacent value to repeat such answer-back sequentially. The name of the other party is issued from a non-volatile memory which stores therein voices of the user.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1983Date of Patent: September 30, 1986Assignee: Aisin Seiki K.K.Inventor: Kazuyuki Umebayashi

Patent number: 4608550Abstract: Communication of electric signals between a control board mounted on a steering wheel but held in stationary state irrespective of a rotation of the steering wheel and an electric controller disposed at a position remote from a steering mechanism. The control board is supported by a steering drive shaft through a toothed wheel mechanism, so that it remains stationary regardless of a rotation of the shaft. The control board and the electric controller are electrically coupled to each other through a combination of slip rings and brushes, a pair of coils, or two pairs of coils. The control board and the electric controller include each an FSK modulation circuit, an FSK demodulation circuit and a microprocessor for controlling transmission or reception of the electric signals. Key inputs on the control board are encoded by the control board and then transmitted to the electric controller. The electric controller decodes the received code and then renders operation instructions to load-vehicle equipments.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1982Date of Patent: August 26, 1986Assignee: Aisin Seiki KabushikikaishaInventors: Kazuyuki Umebayashi, Nobuyasu Suzumura

Patent number: 4503504Abstract: An electric mechanism and an electronic control device for use in setting the inclination and vertical position of a steering wheel of an automotive vehicle. The electronic control device functions to store the inclination and vertical position of the steering wheel, positions the steering wheel to its away position when a driver rides on or alights from the vehicle, thereby to provide no obstruction for the riding and alighting of the driver, and positions the steering wheel to the stored driving position after the driver rides on the vehicle. The electronic control device also stores an attitude of the steering wheel and an attitude of the driver's seat in relation to a code corresponding to each of the plural drivers. In addition, the electronic control device functions to release the door locking upon receipt of a given code and then automatically position the driver's seat and steering wheel to the respective attitudes in accordance with the code.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1982Date of Patent: March 5, 1985Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nobuyasu Suzumura, Kazuyuki Umebayashi, Takahiro Yamada
