  • Patent number: 8126850
Abstract: Saving database storage space includes extracting a standard property unit from a database of commodity information and including the SPU in a SPU library, generating a sequence document of the standard property unit and sending the sequence document to a front-end device, determining whether a newly released commodity matches the standard property unit of the sequence document of the standard property unit and in the event that the newly released commodity matches the standard property unit of the sequence document, binding the new released commodity and the matched standard property unit.

  • Publication number: 20110140679
Abstract: A power converter topology operates as a switching capacitor (capacitive voltage divider) converter during a first, preferably short portion of a switching cycle to provide excellent dynamic transient response and as a pulse width modulated converter during a second portion of a switching cycle to provide flexibility of voltage regulation and generality of application. This topology can be made self-driven and is capable of zero voltage switching. Therefore the power converter can be used as one of a plurality of branches of a multi-phase converter to enhance transient response. The respective branches can also be independently optimized for particular load levels and can be operated independently in a phase shedding manner to improve efficiency at low load. Further, the power converter or respective branches of a multi-phase power converter are compatible with non-linear control to further improve dynamic response.

  • Publication number: 20100261085
Abstract: An electric power source arrangement is described, comprising a fuel cell means (2) having a nominal voltage and a specified voltage-current characteristic, to be connected to a load (1), and comprising a variable DC-DC voltage converter (3), a by-pass branch (11) by-passing the DC-DC voltage converter, a switch (13) alternatively connecting the fuel cell to the DC-DC voltage converter or to the by-pass branch, and a control unit (12) controlling the switch, which control unit (12) comprises a measuring device coupled to the fuel cell means (2) for detecting the operating point thereof and is configured to connect the by-pass branch (11) if the fuel cell means voltage is within a selected range of section (5) of the voltage-current characteristic of the fuel cell means and to disconnect the by-pass branch in the remaining range of sections (4, 6, 7) of said characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20100070978
Abstract: A method for managing storage for a desktop pool is described. The desktop pool includes a plurality of virtual machines (VMs), each VM having at least one virtual disk represented as a virtual disk image file on one of a plurality of datastores associated with the desktop pool. To identify a target datastore for a VM, a weight of each datastore is calculated. The weight may be a function of a virtual capacity of the datastore and the sum of maximum sizes of all the virtual disk image files on the datastore. The virtual capacity is a product of the data storage capacity of the datastore and an overcommit factor assigned to the datastore. The target datastore is selected as the datastore having the highest weight. The VM may is moved to or created on the target datastore.

  • Patent number: 7353521
Abstract: A distributed computing environment is described that provides an improved method for invocation of methods between remote objects. In one embodiment, the improved method comprises steps of: creating a first object having methods that may be invoked by other objects; defining a forward invocation interface for the first object, which allows the methods of the first object to be called in a forward direction; defining a callback method on the first object, for invocation of a method of the first object in a reverse direction; creating a callback handler for handling invocations of the callback method; receiving a callback invocation of the callback method by a callback caller; creating a local reflective target for each received callback; delegating the callback invocation on the callback handler with reference to the local reflective target as an input parameter; and at the first object, making a forward call on the local reflective target.

  • Patent number: 7331049
Abstract: A system and methodology providing typed event and notification services is described. In one embodiment a method for transmitting an event message from a first application to at least one second application over an event channel comprises: generating a message request based on an event at a first application, the message request having a header and a body, the body containing typed event data marshaled for transmission over an event channel; sending the message request to the event channel; in response, reading the header to obtain information about the event without un-marshaling the body; creating a wrapper based, at least in part, on the information obtained from the header; appending the body to the wrapper to create an event message; determining at least one second application to receive the event message; and delivering the event message to the at least one second application.
