  • Patent number: 10960815
Abstract: A method for controlling a display means on board a motor vehicle, characterized in that it includes: a first step of determining the presence of a disruption in front of the vehicle, in which it is checked that at least one parameter representative of the presence of a disruption in front of the vehicle meets at least one predetermined condition; a second step of developing a display order that is triggered when the predetermined conditions are met, and in which an order to display a pictogram representative of the disruption on the display means is transmitted by an electronic control unit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 5, 2017
Date of Patent: March 30, 2021
    Assignee: VALEO VISION
    Inventors: Joel Li, Kedar Sathaye
  • Patent number: 10843536
Abstract: An adaptive screen including at least one liquid crystal shutter. At least one of the shutters includes at least two active zones which are addressed by a control signal which permits the switchover of the at least one corresponding shutter between a passing configuration, in which a transmittance is equal to a maximum value, and a blocking configuration, in which the transmittance is equal to a minimum value. A “principal” active zone covers a surface area of the adaptive screen which is equal to or lower than 60% of the surface area of the adaptive screen, in order to reduce the response time of the principal active zone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 17, 2018
Date of Patent: November 24, 2020
    Assignee: VALEO VISION
Inventors: David Hue, Kedar Sathaye, Jean-Louis De Bougrenet, Emmanuel Daniel, Laurent Dupont, Samir Abbas, Samir Bentahar
  • Patent number: 10677411
Abstract: A luminous signalling module for a motor vehicle, including a liquid-crystal display with a back face and a front face; a backlighting panel placed facing the back face of the liquid-crystal display, configured to backlight the liquid-crystal display with a view to forming, by transmission through the display, a luminous image; and a depolarizing optical device, for example a diffuser, facing the front face of the liquid-crystal display, configured to cancel out a linear polarization of the luminous image generated by the liquid-crystal display.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 29, 2019
Date of Patent: June 9, 2020
    Assignee: VALEO VISION
Inventors: Julia Petit, Kedar Sathaye, Sebastien Neveu

  • Publication number: 20180051212
Abstract: A material is proposed for making an electro-optical shutter device. The material includes a host nematic liquid crystal, at least one guest chiral dopant and one guest black dichroic dye. The birefringence (?n) of the host nematic liquid crystal is greater than 0.20. The concentration of the at least one chiral dopant is adjusted so that the material has a pitch in the range of 500 nm to 800 nm. The concentration of the guest black dichroic dye ranges from 2% to 4% by weight of the material. The dichroic ratio of the guest black dichroic dye is greater than or equal to 8.
