  • Publication number: 20070237083
Abstract: A congestion control access gateway and a congestion control method for the same are provided. The congestion control access gateway interfaces between a broadband convergence network and a ubiquitous sensor network including sensors and terminals. The congestion control access gateway receives data from the ubiquitous sensor network. When a congestion situation has occurred, the congestion control access gateway detects the congestion situation based on data received in the congestion situation and broadcasts congestion notification and control messages in response to the congestion situation detection. The congestion control access gateway generates a congestion situation detection profile as a result of the congestion situation detection and performs priority queuing of the received data based on the congestion situation detection profile and service classes.

  • Publication number: 20070133881
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for character recognition that analyze three-dimensional motion of a user using an acceleration sensor and thereby perform character input and character recognition. The apparatus and method easily discern each stroke on the basis of a direction of motion at the beginning portion and end portion of the stroke, and recognize a character using a combination of the strokes, thereby enabling realization of a small-sized motion-based character input system.

  • Publication number: 20070124703
Abstract: A command input method makes use of a three-dimensional motion recognition device embodied with an inertia system and is particularly directed to extend the total number of inputable commands using initial posture information as well as movement pattern of a motion recognition device. The command input method includes the steps of: determining initial posture at start point when movement of the motion recognition device is generated; determining a pattern of the movement at the end of the movement; and deciding a command from the determined initial posture and the movement pattern. Since the three-dimensional spatial motion can be further differentiated into different commands by the initial posture of the input device, the command input system can be simplified in structure with less number of recognizable motions.

  • Publication number: 20060133336
Abstract: Provided is an access mediator system for mediating convergence services of communication and broadcasting using a non-communicative appliance. The access mediator system includes: a non-communicative appliance access interface unit performing an interface function so as to converge a non-communicative appliance comprising an interface supporting image and voice multimedia data but not including a communication function; a broadband convergence network access interface unit performing an interface function so as to access a broadband convergence network connected to various service provider servers via wire and wireless interfaces; and a main processor accessing a selected service provider server via the broadband convergence network access interface unit to mediate the selected service provider server and the non-communicative appliance.

  • Publication number: 20060136963
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus for combining video and a player skin in an embedded system having no graphics card, and a method used by the apparatus. The apparatus includes: an application program; a virtual frame buffer; a graphics processor; and an image processor. The apparatus processes a video player skin image using a virtual frame buffer without a graphics card, and stores the processed video player skin image in a region of a physical main memory, thereby requiring no high-performance CPU, simplifying the hardware structure, and embodying a superior application program without needing a frame buffer and driver compatible with an operating system.
