  • Publication number: 20240198022
Abstract: A positive airway pressure therapy device, which may include one or more of at least one controller; a flow generator configured to provide therapeutic air assist; a plurality of sensors including at least one electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor, and at least one photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor, the at least one PPG sensor may be configured to determine hyperinflation and the implication on variability in stroke volume and ejection fraction and form corresponding stroke volume (SV) and ejection fraction (EF) information, and the at least one ECG sensor configured to sense heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) and form corresponding HR and HRV sensor information; the at least one controller may be configured to: control a flow generator to provide the therapeutic air assist to the user in accordance with initial pressure values determined in accordance with default setting values; and may determine whether a venous return flow (VRF) is less than a venous threshold.

  • Publication number: 20240198024
Abstract: The invention provides a computer implemented method of controlling a positive airway pressure device for providing ventilation support therapy, wherein the positive airway pressure device is configured to deliver pressurized air to a subject, during subject inspiration and expiration, according to a therapeutic pressure protocol. The method comprises receiving physiological data from a physiological sensor arrangement; running a detection algorithm to determine an expiration pressure burden based on physiological data; running a pressure adjustment algorithm, wherein the pressure adjustment algorithm is configured to generate a pressure adjustment instruction for adjusting the therapeutic pressure protocol based on the determined expiration pressure burden; and outputting the pressure adjustment instruction to adjust the therapeutic pressure protocol based on the determined expiration pressure burden. In another aspect, the invention provides a ventilation support system.

  • Patent number: 8403479
Abstract: A model for testing contact lens designs is used in applications such as methods for designing contact lenses in which one subjects a lens design to the model, determines whether the lens meets its design objectives by application of the model, keeps the lens design if it does, and modifies the lens design if it does not.
