  • Patent number: 9223747
Abstract: The invention provides a system for reusing triple event data of PET. The system includes an input unit, a determining unit, and an output unit. A plurality of data is generated by an object undergoing the PET scan, and the input unit is used to receive the data. The determining unit is used to determine the data and pick out data corresponding to triple event from the data and according to a formula to pick out data corresponding to coincident event from the data corresponding to triple event. In other words, the determining unit picks out data corresponding to true triple event from the data to reuse and analyze the data corresponding to coincident event and further to generate an analysis result. The output unit is used to output the analysis result.

  • Patent number: 8664610
Abstract: A single photon emission computed tomography instrument is provided, which has a platform, at least one detector, at least one beam stopper, a signal processing device and a computer. The at least one detector is disposed at one side of the platform, and the at least one beam stopper is disposed between the platform and the detector. The signal processing device is electrically communicated with the at least one detector, and the computer is electrically communicated with the signal processing device. The present disclosure further provides an operating method which the beam stopper is added or removed respectively while scanning an analyze by the single photon emission computed tomography instrument in different angles. The projection dataset emitted from the focus could be estimated by subtracting the projecting data without the beam stopper from that with the beam stopper, and high resolution image could be obtained by using image reconstruction program.

  • Publication number: 20100294941
Abstract: A dual photons emission computed tomography (DuPECT) system is provided. The present invention uses certain isotopes that emit at least two photons during the decay for the purpose of emission source positioning. The system includes a plurality of modular detectors connected to a coincident circuit, and each modular detector is equipped with a collimator to determine the direction of the incident photon trajectory. When the modular detectors simultaneously detect the signals of two photons issued by the isotopes, the source position is located at the intersection of the trajectories of two photons. The modular detectors can be arranged around the object to be detected according to the shape of the object and is particularly suitable for imagining of regional organs and small animals.

  • Patent number: 7381960
Abstract: Disclosed is an imaging system and method for the non-pure positron emission tomography (NPET). The NPET comprises a PET subsystem to detect the annihilated photons, and a SPECT subsystem to detect the associated gamma. These two subsystems are connected by a triple coincidence circuit. The source position can be determined through detection of the three photons using the triple coincidence circuit. As long as these three photons are simultaneously detected and their energies are right, the source position is directly calculated and located on the intersection of an associated line and an annihilated line. The present invention provides good temporal resolution and quantitative analysis. It immunes to scatter and random events and achieves a high signal-to-noise ratio. Real imaging is also possible in the NPET system.

  • Patent number: 6921902
Abstract: A scatter correction device for radiative tomographic scanners is disclosed. The device comprises at least one steady support component and multiple beam stoppers made of high Z materials such as lead and wolfram. Each beam stopper has two ends fixed on the steady support component respectively. Theses beam stoppers can thus be sustained at fixed locations by the steady support component. During scanning an object, the device is placed between the object and detectors. But when the scatter correction device is applied to a CT scanner, the device is placed between object and radiation source. It attenuates part of the primary radiation with very small affects on the scattered radiation.
