Abstract: A comprehensive method for generating mathematical equations and symbolic scientific expressions using pure HTML and CSS is disclosed. This method renders the equations portable and editable and contrasts with previous procedures that represent equations using a whole built-up graphic objects. An application of the method using HTML and JavaScript is also disclosed. Finally, a procedure for documenting the equations within the HTML document is included such that the equations are interpretable and can be converted to and from other formats such as LaTex, MATHML, or linear representation.

Abstract: A tutoring request and fulfillment method and system based on a service-oriented bidding process is disclosed. The system employs a system of user-centric calendars to determine initial combinability of knowledge recipient with knowledge providers. Knowledge providers may bid for or be directly selected for knowledge requests. Out of a plurality of knowledge providers who bid for a request, the system provides open and validated information on the providers that enable the knowledge recipient or their agent to select a provider. Such information may include qualifications, experience, fee or rates, knowledge delivery history, and score or rating of the provider based on a scoring process within the system. The system also makes provision for knowledge delivery as well as for recording knowledge delivery sessions.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to a system in which web applications comprising of web presentation pages, which interact with users, have features that can be activated embedded in them. When these applications are installed on a host system, the features become activated and allow the host operators to customize or set up the applications to suit their presentation strategy. Further, the web applications may contain standard or typical features, common to most host systems. On such systems, the web applications will self configure or customize themselves to the host system on activation of those features that already have values on the host. Feature information will include a default value and a presentation element or content type. The combined information contained in the set will be used by the host to query operators for feature values additionally relieving applications the task of building feature setting procedures.
