    Abstract: To provide a twin-type power electromagnetic relay having high reliability, having a reduced size and low mounting height, and suitable for surface mounting. By inserting projections provided in a coil spool, which is a component constituting an electromagnetic relay block, into projection insertion holes 5a and 5b formed in a base plate 5, two electromagnetic relay blocks 4A and 4B are arranged side by side on the base plate 5 such that their central axes are nearly parallel to the base plate. A base protective wall 5c is provided on the base plate 5, and a coil wire winding terminal portion of a spool is covered by the base protective wall and by a fixed terminal protective wall on the fixed terminal block when assembled, preventing foreign matters such as flux from entering between the contacts from the winding terminal portion.

An electromagnetic relay has an electromagnetic block provided with a movable contact spring 14 swung by current flowing in a coil, two fixed contact terminals 22 and 22? each having a fixed contact, a backstop 23 having two movable contact abutment portions, and a base block 2 for retaining the above components. The base block 2 has a base portion 20 having substantially a rectangular shape, fixed contact terminal retaining portions 21 and 21? extending vertically from two opposing sides of the rectangle so as to retain the two fixed contact terminals, and a backstop retaining portion 24 extending vertically from the center portion of one of the remaining two opposing sides of the rectangle.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic relay is provided which is small in size and is capable of controlling two circuits of an ordinarily-open contact, which has a large current-carrying capacity and high interrupting capability, and which is excellent in resistance against shock and vibration. Movable contactors are held, through bow-shaped movable contactor springs, to two -shaped holding frames each being electrically separated and being mechanically connected via a card made of a highly heat-resistant resin in a card block. Thick-plate shaped movable contacts, which are attached to the movable contactors in a fixed manner, are electrically connected or disconnected to fixed contacts in a base block, in synchronization with operations of an armature of an electro-magnet block. In order to improve a current-carrying capability and interrupting capability, there are provided two pieces of ordinarily-open contacts which are connected in series to each other, and between which an interval is doubled, in each of two circuits.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic relay has three fixed contact terminal assemblies arrayed in a row at regular intervals, and a movable contact spring assembly having three movable contacts. An armature is caused to swing by turning on and off an exciting current to a coil assembly so that normally-open contact portions are closed and opened. A movable spring of the movable contact spring assembly is branched into three portions on one end side thereof and a substantially U-shaped slit is formed in each of the branched portions so that spring flexible portions and a current-carrying path portion are separately formed in each branched portion. A current-carrying plate is joined to the three current-carrying path portions so that the three movable contacts are electrically connected together.

    Abstract: A miniature relay switches a very large current without causing a deterioration of nearby insulation. This is done by providing relatively large clearance spaces in the areas where particles eroding from the contacts might be deposited. Also, housing walls separate the contacts from these areas of particle deposition. Without this clearance space or walls, the deposited particles might cause a short circuit. The invention also provides many structural details which enables the miniature construction.
