  • Patent number: 9205005
Abstract: An absorbent article has a liquid-permeable top sheet of a white non-woven fabric, a liquid-impermeable back sheet opposing the top sheet, and an absorbent between the top sheet and the back sheet. A colored element is provided on the side of the top sheet that does not contact the skin, is visible through the top sheet, and is colored to a color other than white. The top sheet has protrusions and indentations in the thickness direction. The basic weight of the protrusions is greater than the basic weight of the indentations. The color difference between the Lab value of the color of the colored element visible through the protrusions of the top sheet and the Lab value of the color of the colored element visible through the indentations of the top sheet is 2.8 or more.

  • Patent number: 8986274
Abstract: The present invention provides an absorbent article in which a joining strength between sheet-shaped members is improved. A joint portion which joins a front trunk-surrounding region and a rear trunk-surrounding region of the absorbent article to each other has a first joint region arranged continuously along an outer edge and the second joint portion arranged continuously in a region closer to the outer edge than the first joint region, substantially parallel to the first joint region. The sum of the areas of the plurality of first joint portions in the first joint region is less than the sum of the areas of the second joint portions in the second joint region.

  • Publication number: 20120226252
Abstract: Provided is a disposable bodily fluid absorbent wearing article including a liquid-pervious topsheet formed with ridges and troughs extending in parallel to each other, improved to attach a leakage-barrier thereto. A bodily fluid absorbent core material assembly is interposed between a liquid-pervious topsheet and a liquid-impervious backsheet. The topsheet is formed on its outer surface with ridges and troughs extending in parallel to each other in a front-back direction. Opposite outer edges in a width direction of the core material assembly are formed with leakage-barriers, respectively. Opposite lateral regions of the topsheet extending outward at least partially beyond opposite side edges of the core material assembly are compressed so as to lower a height of the ridges.

  • Patent number: 8147474
Abstract: The present invention provides an absorbent article 1 that does not easily warp in a leg-surrounding portion. The absorbent article 1 includes an absorbing member 2 in an elongated shape arranged along a longitudinal direction of the absorbent article, and a stretchable chassis 3 having a leg-surrounding portion 3a recessed inward in a width direction. At least a part of the chassis 3 is composed of a composite sheet 13 obtained by affixing a stretchable sheet 15 and a non-stretchable sheet 16 to each other by a plurality of adhesive portions 18. The leg-surrounding portion 3a has an intersection crossing an expansion and contraction direction of the chassis 3 at a predetermined angle. The plurality of adhesive portions 18 extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the expansion and contraction direction.

  • Publication number: 20120022489
Abstract: A diaper includes a chassis, a liquid-absorbent structure and containment cuffs. An inner sheet in the chassis includes a plurality of ridges and grooves extending in a longitudinal direction Y. Between a rear end of the liquid-absorbent structure and rear waist elastics, a spacing zone is defined. Cuff elastics are attached in a contractible manner to cuffs' inner side edges wherein opposite ends of the cuff elastics are spaced from cuffs' front and rear ends, respectively. Upon contraction of the cuff elastics, the cuffs' inner side edges is pulled inward in the longitudinal direction Y and folded about the inner ends of the respective inner bond zones toward the wearer's body so as to form a folded crest. Formation of the folded crest makes a portion of the inner sheet closer to its rear end than the folded crest to form a folded trough on the garment-facing side.
