Patent number: 7934085Abstract: Disclosed is an application program which can directly access a transmit buffer of a serial port. Data written into the transmit buffer by the application program is transferred into a receive buffer of the serial port via a switching element. The computer BIOS is enabled to directly access the receive buffer and therefore read the data written by the application program. The state of the switching element may be controlled by the application program to selectively allow data transfer from the transmit buffer to the receive buffer. A jumper plug may be used to create a short circuit between the transmit buffer and the receive buffer instead of closing the switching element.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2003Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: Lenovo (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Keiichi Azuma, Tsuneo Heitoh, Eiichi Shibata

Patent number: 7004776Abstract: There is provided a ZIF connector which can be connected with a connecting part readily, correctly and reliably and a semiconductor-testing apparatus with the ZIF connector. The connector (2) comprises: an opening (22) through which a plug (1) is inserted; and a plurality of opposing contacts (21A), (21B) inside the opening (22). The contacts (21A), (21B) are opened and closed by a contact open-and-close mechanism. A moving block (23) holding the contacts in a cantilever manner so that one end side of the contacts (21A), (21B) is open in a form of the character ‘V’. A shell (24) for slidably housing the moving block with the contacts (21A), (21B). When the contact open-and-close mechanism moves the moving block (23) toward the opening (22), the one end side of the contacts is characterized in the ‘V’ shape, which slides on the paired inclined faces (25A), (25B) of a first guide block (25) so as to widen the distance between the contacts (21A), (21B).Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2004Date of Patent: February 28, 2006Assignee: J.S.T. Mfg. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akihiko Otsu, Keiichi Azuma

Patent number: 6979226Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector which includes a plug unit and a receptacle. The plug unit includes a housing board and a transmission path board. The housing board has a housing board body and first connection terminals and second connection terminals. The transmission path board has a transmission path board body, plural differential signal patterns which are connected to the first connection terminals and the second connection terminals of the housing board, and high pass filters which are connected to each of the differential signal patterns. The receptacle has a receptacle body and pin contacts. According to the present invention, a low-frequency component of a digital signal is attenuated. Thus, since an attenuation factor of the high-frequency component and an attenuation factor of the low-frequency component of the digital signal can be set substantially the same, the digital signal can be transmitted surely.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2004Date of Patent: December 27, 2005Assignee: J.S.T.
