Patent number: 6715412Abstract: A printer capable of printing a multicolor image with a single pass of a paper or similar recording medium includes a plurality of print drums. Drum drive gears each are mounted on a particular print drum such that the print drum is replaceable. The print drums are interlocked to each other by rotatable members including relay gears meshing with the drum drive gears, timing pulleys fixed to the relay gears, a timing belt, and pulleys for adjustment. Each rotatable member has teeth the number of which is selected such that the number of rotations of the rotatable member to occur in a single period of the print drums is an integral multiple of the number of rotations of the print drums.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2002Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Tohoku Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventors: Keiichi Chiba, Hironobu Takasawa

Patent number: 6592481Abstract: A synchronous drive arrangement for a printer of the present invention includes a timing belt passed over drive pulleys each being mounted on a particular print drum. The timing belt is made up of two narrow belt parts produced by dividing a single belt. Assuming that the belt parts have n teeth each, one of the belt parts is shifted from the other belt part by one-half of the number of teeth n. The belt parts are so positioned as to cancel each other's eccentricity component during rotation. The arrangement reduces synchronization errors ascribable to the eccentricity of the timing belt while preserving the low-cost configuration of timing belt connection.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2001Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Tohoku Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hisashi Sato, Keiichi Chiba

Patent number: 6326623Abstract: A pipe switching unit switches connections between the radiation monitor side and a plurality of sampling pipes which are installed in different sampling places to introduce air from the respective sampling places. An intermittent dust radiation monitor collect, in a dust collection section, dust in the air introduced through each sampling pipe sequentially switched by the pipe switching unit, and measures the radioactivity concentration of dust in the dust collection section. A continuous dust radiation monitor collects, in a dust collection section, dust in the air introduced through a fixed sampling pipe switched by the pipe switching unit, and measures the radioactivity concentration of dust in the dust collection section. With this arrangement, while intermittent measurement is performed in normal operation as in the prior art, the intermittent measurement is switched to continuous measurement, as needed, thereby improving the measurement precision.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: December 4, 2001Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Keiichi Chiba, Mitsuo Ishibashi, Yorimasa Endo, Eiji Noda, Yasuo Suzuki, Noriyuki Seki, Akira Yunoki

Publication number: 20010029850Abstract: A printer of the present invention includes a timing belt passed over drive pulleys, each of which is mounted on a particular print drum, via phase adjusting means and deflection pulleys or rotary members. The deflection pulleys are rotatable in contact with the rear surface of the timing belt. The timing belt has its rear surface ground to have uniform thickness. The printer is free from the deviation of relative phase between the rotary members and offset ghosts ascribable to the irregular thickness of the timing belt, while preserving the low-cost configuration of timing belt connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2001Publication date: October 18, 2001Applicant: Tohoku Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventors: Keiichi Chiba, Hironobu Takasawa

Patent number: 6290470Abstract: A shaft sealing assembly for a compressor includes first and second lip rings, each of which is disposed around a shaft of a compressor to provide sealing. A retainer ring is disposed between the two lip rings to retain the shape of the first lip ring, which serves to allow leakage of fluid when the shaft rotates and prevent the leakage when the shaft is stopped. The three rings are held together at the radial portions of the rings. Each of the radial portions of the two lip rings extends outwardly beyond the radial portion of the retainer ring, providing an annular contact area. The two lip rings resiliently contact one another in the contact area. An annular projection is provided on at least one of the lip rings in the contact area to ensure the sealing.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1999Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Assignees: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki Seisakusho, Eagle Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takuya Okuno, Masahiro Kawaguchi, Masanori Sonobe, Atsuyuki Morishita, Keiichi Chiba

Patent number: 5454308Abstract: A reliable, small and light stencil duplicating machine comprises a printing section, a sheet feeding section, and a sheet discharging section. The printing section includes a printing drum for wrapping a stencil thereon, a press roller and parts associated with a printing process. The sheet feeding section feeds each printing sheet into a space between the printing drum and the press roller. A printed sheet is stripped off from the printing drum by a sheet separating member of the sheet discharging section, and is discharged onto a tray.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1994Date of Patent: October 3, 1995Assignee: Tohoku Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takuo Sato, Keiichi Chiba

Patent number: 5076562Abstract: A sheet feeder for feeding sheets into a copying or printing machine includes a movable base movably mounted on a fixed base for movement across a sheet inlet of the copying or printing machine in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the sheets are fed into the copying or printing machines. Two sheet tables for carrying respective stacks of sheets thereon are juxtaposed along the direction in which the movable base is movable, and is mounted on the movable base, so that a selected one of the sheet tables can be positioned at the sheet inlet in response to movement of the movable base. The selected sheet table is lifted by a lifter mechanism associated therewith to elevate the supported sheets until the uppermost one of the sheets reaches a sheet feeding position. The sheets are then successively fed from the selected sheet table into the sheet inlet.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1990Date of Patent: December 31, 1991Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshinobu Sai, Toshiaki Sannohe, Keiichi Chiba

Patent number: 3973581Abstract: A combination of a control piston and pilot spool is slidable in a through passageway between an accumulator chamber and a spring chamber separated by a valve body in the valve housing. The combination slides in response to accumulator pressure causing shifting in fluid paths between inlet and outlet ports and drain to maintain the accumulator pressure constant.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1974Date of Patent: August 10, 1976Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventor: Keiichi Chiba
