  • Publication number: 20130021544
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first glass substrate having a first main surface; a second glass substrate spaced apart from the first glass substrate; a liquid crystal layer filled between the second glass substrate and the first glass substrate; a switching element formed on the first main surface; a lower electrode arranged between the first main surface and a second main surface; an upper electrode spaced apart from the lower electrode and arranged on a second main surface side to face the lower electrode; and a detecting unit detecting an electrical signal defined by the upper electrode and the lower electrode. At least one of the upper electrode and the lower electrode can deform to conform to the other when the second glass substrate is pressed.

  • Publication number: 20130020573
Abstract: A pressure detecting device includes a glass substrate as a substrate, a lower electrode arranged on the glass substrate, an upper electrode spaced apart from the lower electrode and facing the lower electrode, the upper electrode having holes as one or more through-openings, and a source line as a change extracting wiring for detecting a change in electrical state caused by the upper electrode receiving pressure to deflect toward the lower electrode.

  • Publication number: 20130021285
Abstract: A display device with a touch panel function is a display device having a display region including a first color transmitting section through which a first color is transmitted and a second color transmitting section through which a second color is transmitted. The display device includes, within the display region, a pressure sensor for detecting pressurization on the display region. A part or the entirety of the pressure sensor serves as a projection as a non-transmitting section through which light is not transmitted, and the first color transmitting section and the second color transmitting section are separated by the projection as the non-transmitting section.

  • Publication number: 20130021295
Abstract: A display device with a touch panel function includes a pressure sensor as a first sensor for detecting presence/absence of pressurization on an input screen, an electrostatic capacitance touch panel as a second sensor for detecting a contact position on the input screen, whose power consumption for waiting in a detectable state is higher than power consumption of the first sensor, and a control unit for switching the second sensor into the detectable state when presence of pressurization is detected by the first sensor. The input screen also serves as a display screen.

  • Publication number: 20110242476
Abstract: Provided are a liquid crystal display panel in which the distance between substrates is maintained consistent inside and outside the sealing member border, which prevents cell thickness irregularity and ensures uniform display quality over the entire display region, and a liquid crystal display device including such a liquid crystal display panel. In the liquid crystal display panel, a thin film transistor substrate and an opposite substrate facing the thin film transistor substrate are bonded together with a sealing member, a liquid crystal layer is held inside the region bordered by the sealing member, and spacers are disposed inside and outside the region bordered by the sealing member. In the thin film transistor substrate, the thickness of the panel-constituting members disposed in regions overlapping the spacers is substantially the same inside and outside the region bordered by the sealing member.
