    Abstract: A drawn cup needle roller bearing 30 having a seal ring comprises: a shell 31 having a raceway surface 31a on an inner circumferential face and also having inward flange portions 31b, 31c in both end portions; a cage 32 having a plurality of pockets 32a in a circumferential direction and worked by cutting; a plurality of needles 33 retained in the pockets 32a so that the needles freely rotate along the raceway surface 31a; and a seal ring 34, the shape of which is cylindrical, arranged inside the shell 31 between an end face 32b of the cage 32 and the inward flange portion 31b. The seal ring 34 composes a floating seal and is formed by press working. Due to the foregoing, an excellent dimensional accuracy can be provided and a quantity of lubricant passing through the bearing can be controlled.

An annular intermediate material is formed by die cutting the metal plate, and after a second intermediate material is formed by forming through holes in the intermediate material intermittently, a portion of the second intermediate material excluding a radially outer end portion is plastically deformed into a tubular shape. The portion plastically deformed tubular shape is formed as the main portion, a portion corresponding to the radially outer end portion of the second intermediate material is formed as the collar portion or a collar portion element for forming the collar portion, and portions corresponding to the through holes are formed as the pockets.

    Abstract: A cage element 18 in which pillar element portions 17, 17 are made to project from a rim portion 11 is manufactured by performing a punching process and a bending process on a metal plate. With rim portions 11, 11 of a pair of cage elements 18, 18 disposed concentrically with each other and phases in a circumferential direction of the respective pillar element portions 17, 17 made to coincide with each other, distal ends of the respective pillar element portions 17, 17 are butted to each other to be welded together, whereby respective pillar portions are made. The roundness of the respective rim portions 11, 11 and the shape accuracy and interval accuracy of these respective pillar portions are improved without performing troublesome processes, so as to solve the problem.
