  • Publication number: 20040017757
Abstract: For audio data configured in units of frames with a header at the top and compressed in a way such that data corresponding to a specific frame is also present in a different frame, the present invention executes at least one of the following processing (1) and processing (2) at dividing this compressed audio into two pieces of audio data, i.e., front and rear pieces, at a predetermined position. (1) A step to divide the audio data into front and rear pieces, and a step to add data of a predetermined number of bytes at the beginning of the rear audio data to an end of the front audio data. (2) A step to divide the audio data into front and rear pieces, and a step to add data of a predetermined number bytes from an end of the front audio data to the front of the beginning of the rear audio data. This prevents the generation of abnormal noise even when data is compressed in a way, typically in MP3, such that location of a frame and location of data for that frame do not always match.

  • Patent number: 6320831
Abstract: An object of this invention is to provide a method for processing signals for an optical disc device and an optical disc device for immediately determining the on-track state of a main beam light impinging on an optical disc including land areas on which information is recorded, said optical disc being track-formatted to have a double spiral structure. In recording or reproducing information on or from the land areas while track-controlling a first reflected light (MB) based on a second reflect light (SB1) and a third reflect light (SB2), the phases of a sum signal (SUM) and a difference signal (DIFF) between a first push-pull signal (PP1) obtained from an output from a first split photo conductor (21) and a second push-pull signal (PP2) obtained from an output from a second split photo conductor (23) are compared to determine from the mutual phase relationship which land area is providing the first reflected light (MB).

  • Patent number: 5696919
Abstract: A method of controlling the selections on a reproducible control data structure with two different selection control methods. According to a first control method, single frame plural selectors, to each of which a numerical identifier has been added, are displayed. Branch tables grouping branch data according to selector numbers are provided. A user makes a selection by selecting a selector number. According to a second control method, plural sectors are displayed in a single frame. A user-specified selector and other selectors are provided for visually differentiating between the selectors as a means of prompting user confirmation of the specified selector. A selection confirmed by the user controls the selection by means of the branch data. Branch data usable by both the first control method and the second control method is grouped together by providing the branch data used by the second control method in the branch table used by the first control method.

  • Patent number: 5132947
Abstract: A combined memory medium is constructed by an optical disc used as a read-only memory, a cartridge for holding or receiving the optical disc, and a fixed memory which is held in the cartridge. The read or write operation for the fixed memory is carried out by structure different from that used for the optical disc so that the optical disc and the fixed memory constitute an integral memory medium. A combined memory medium drive apparatus includes the combined memory medium, a disc access block for reading out the data on the optical disc, a memory access block for performing reading or writing of data for the fixed memory, and a control block for interpreting an instruction sent from an external device to control the reading of data from the optical disc through the disc access block and the reading or writing of data for the fixed memory through the memory access block, in which the optical disc and the fixed memory are complementarily used.

  • Patent number: 5033007
Abstract: In sequential processings of converting input picture data springs having unitary picture data in succession to picture data of a form adapted for displaying, storing the resultant picture data and then displaying the same in a display, a first detection data and a second detection data are monitored. The first detection data is indicative of commencement of the unitary picture data and is detected from the input picture data strings. The second detection data is indicative of termination of the conversion and is detected on the unitary picture data basis. If the second detection data has not been detected at the time when the first detection data has been detected, the unitary picture data detected with the first detection data is invalidated and the unitary picture data is left unprocessed.

  • Patent number: 4924426
Abstract: An information memory control system include: a memory unit having a memory medium for storing a plurality of information in the form of a plurality of data blocks each of which contains an information data and an attribute data of the information data; an access unit for accessing the memory unit so as to read out each of the data blocks from the memory medium; a selection unit directly coupled to the memory unit for distributing each of the read-out data blocks to a plurality of output ports of the selection unit according to the attribute data; a processing unit coupled to one of the output ports of the selection unit as so to correspond to the attribute data for processing the information data according to the attribute data; and an output device coupled to the processing unit for outputting the processed information data.
