  • Patent number: 9150090
Abstract: In a power transmission system, a ring gear of a first speed reducer and a ring gear of a second speed reducer are coupled to each other and have the same rotational axis. An engagement portion between the ring gear and a planetary gear is formed such that, when a first motor generates a rotational torque in the forward direction, a force acts on the ring gear in a direction approaching the second speed reducer in the rotational axis direction. An engagement portion between the ring gear and a planetary gear is formed such that, when a second motor generates a rotational torque in the forward direction, a force acts on the ring gear of the second speed reducer in a direction of approaching the first speed reducer in the rotational axis direction.

  • Patent number: 9145961
Abstract: Two motor and planetary gear type speed reducers are disposed sequentially from an outer side in a width direction of a vehicle, whereby the speed reducers are disposed between the motors. A radially outer edge of a ring gear of one of the speed reducers is formed smaller than the smaller one of the two radially outermost edge portions of the motors. An offset space that is recessed further radially than an imaginary line that connects the radially outermost edge portion of one motor with the that of the other motor is provided radially outwards of the ring gear of one of the speed reducers, and at least part of a breather chamber of a breather unit and at least part of a strainer accommodation compartment are disposed within the offset space. It is thus possible to expand a volumetric capacity room that communicates with an interior of a case.

  • Patent number: 8972139
Abstract: A control system that performs control of an electric motor is described. The control system may include a rotating body inertia torque computing unit that uses a rotational state of a vehicle wheel when braking is applied to the wheel to calculate an inertia torque of rotating bodies residing within a span behind the wheel, among members that rotate by the driving force of the electric motor. The control system also may include a controller that performs control of the electric motor to cancel the inertia torque of the rotating bodies based on the calculation result from the rotating body inertia torque computing unit.
