  • Publication number: 20120162387
Abstract: A server sends to a client a message instructing movement of a display apparatus so that cameras comprising a view for creating a three-dimensional model can shoot a screen of a display apparatus. After movement is complete, the server causes an imaging parameter computation pattern image to be displayed on the screen of the display apparatus and instructs the client to cause the displayed pattern image to be shot by cameras. The server acquires images shot by the cameras from the client and seeks imaging parameters of the cameras on the basis of the pattern image included in the acquired images.

  • Publication number: 20120140040
Abstract: The utility of a service using AR is improved. The information display apparatus which applies an information display according to augmented reality (AR) acquires a reference image for matching with a subject in a captured image and scale information which shows a scale of the subject in the reference image from an information provision apparatus. Then, an inputter-outputter of the information display apparatus displays the captured image as well as a distribution of the reference images by a scale of the subject. On this distribution display, a guide display according to the scale of the subject in the captured image is performed. This guide display moves on the distribution display corresponding to a change of an angle of view. Accordingly, it is easily set the angle of view by which the matching using the acquired reference image can be performed appropriately, and the convenience improves.

  • Publication number: 20120139941
Abstract: The matching processor acquires the key information such as position information and/or the like by the key information acquirer, and notifies to an external apparatus via the communicator. The matching processor stores the acquired key information in the storer corresponding to the identification information which is acquired from the external apparatus. When the acquired identification information does not exist in a AR data management table, the matching processor acquires the AR data by notifying the identification information to the external apparatus. When there is no empty record in a key information management table, key information of which usage date and time is old is considered as a deletion target. Moreover, when there is no empty record in the AR data management table, the AR data of which usage date and time is old is considered as the deletion target.

  • Publication number: 20120069018
Abstract: A generating unit generates a 3D model of an object based on pair images obtained for the same object. An extracting unit extracts plural first feature points from a to-be-synthesis 3D model and plural second feature points from a synthesis 3D model. An obtaining unit obtains a coordinate conversion parameter based on the plural first feature points and second feature points. A converting unit converts a coordinate of the synthesis 3D model in a coordinate in the coordinate system of the to-be-synthesis 3D model using the coordinate conversion parameter. A synthesizing unit synthesizes all converted synthesis 3D models with the to-be-synthesis 3D model, and unifies feature points. A storing unit stores the synthesized 3D model of the object and information on the unified feature points in a memory card, etc. The stored data is used in an AR process.

  • Patent number: 8111949
Abstract: A captured image projection apparatus obtains projection parameters and image effect correction parameters from a moving image captured at a low resolution in a task different from a task in which capturing of a high-resolution still image is to be performed, when a change ceases to occur in the moving image and before the capturing of the high-resolution still image is started. The apparatus changes the scale of the obtained projection parameters from one for low-resolution image to one for high-resolution image. The apparatus applies an image conversion process and an image effect process to the captured high-resolution still image by using the projection parameters and image effect correction parameters obtained before the still image is captured. Thereby, the captured image projection apparatus shortens the time required from the capturing of the image to projection thereof.

  • Publication number: 20110316976
Abstract: An imaging apparatus generates a 3D model using a photographed image of a subject and generates a 3D image based on the 3D model. When a corresponding point corresponding to a point forming the 3D model does not form a 3D model generated using a photographed image photographed at a different photographing position, the imaging apparatus determines that the point is noise, and removes the point determined as noise from the 3D model. The imaging apparatus generates a 3D image based on the 3D model from which the point determined as noise is removed.

  • Publication number: 20110074782
Abstract: An image capturing unit 22 of an apparatus captures an image of a viewer 11 viewing a display image displayed in a display unit 21. The apparatus detects a face of the viewer 11 from the captured image. The apparatus determines a position of the face thus detected and a position of a light source 12, respectively. The apparatus detects a reflection area 61 from the display image (including a clock object 31) based on the positions of the face and the light source. Subsequently, the apparatus executes, on data of the display image, the image processing of adding a reflection effect to the reflection area. Then, the apparatus causes the display unit 21 to display the display image based on the data on which the image processing has been executed.

  • Patent number: 7791655
Abstract: A photographing unit photographs an object “n” times respectively with exposure times T1(1) to T1(n) to generate “n” sheets of images of the same object per an exposure time T1, where “n” is a whole number and the exposure times T1(1) to T1(n) are obtained by dividing the exposure time T1 by the whole number of “n”, a displacement correcting unit (32a, 32b) calculates a correction value for correcting displacement of the images, and a limb-darkening compensating unit (32d) corrects a position of a limb-darkening characteristic component of each of the images, using the correction value. Meanwhile, the limb-darkening characteristic components of the images whose positions have been corrected are combined to generate a limb-darkening characteristic component for compensation. Limb darkening in a combined image is compensated for, using the limb-darkening characteristic component for compensation, whereby a time required for performing a limb-darkening compensating process is decreased.

  • Patent number: 7760962
Abstract: A digital camera shoots a document plural times from different directions to obtain a plurality of images. An image processing device included in the digital camera corrects the keystone distortion of each image to generate an image which seems as if the document were shot from in front of it. The image processing device synthesizes the images by addition-averaging the pixel values of each pixel in the plurality of corrected images. Even if captured images are illuminated by glare from a light because a document made of glossy paper is shot, the influence of the glare is reduced by addition-averaging the pixel values of each pixel in the plurality of images.

  • Patent number: 7619663
Abstract: A digital camera acquires the image of an original including an original from a shot image acquired by shooting. The digital camera reduces the image of the original and corrects distortion of the reduced image which is originated from the characteristic of a lens. As the digital camera performs distortion correction on the reduced image, the number of arithmetic operations in distortion correction is reduced, making distortion correction simpler. The digital camera acquires a rectangle defined by the contour of the original, extracts the image of the original to acquire an original image before reduction, and acquires an associated projection-transformed image by affine transformation. The digital camera acquires pixel positions of the original image using an affine parameter, and acquires pixel positions of the image before distortion correction using a relational expression of distortion correction performed on the reduced image.
