Abstract: A terminal management system includes a terminal apparatus connected to a local network, a management server capable of transmitting and receiving information relating to the terminal apparatus through the local network, and a client terminal capable of receiving the information relating to the terminal apparatus from the management server through the local network. The management server includes a terminal searching section for searching for the terminal apparatus connected to the local network, a terminal information transmitting section for transmitting information relating to this terminal apparatus to the client terminal with reference to information relating to the client terminal, and a driver requesting section for requesting a data server connected to an external network for a driver program for operating the terminal apparatus, in accordance with request information transmitted from the client terminal. The management server transmits an installer and the driver program to the client terminal.

Abstract: A driver installing method is supplied capable of effectively installing driver program to correspond to respective modes of a device driven by the modes. The driver installing method is used to install respective driver programs corresponding to plural modes to a terminal apparatus in order to drive a device serving as peripheral equipment, and comprises steps of inputting device information for specifying said device; selecting said plural modes corresponding to said device on the basis of said device information; and collectively installing said respective driver program corresponding to said plural modes to said terminal apparatus.

Abstract: A shared printer monitoring unit monitors whether there is a change in shared printer which has been set as a shared printer from a client or not on the basis of shared printer information in a storing unit. If the shared printer monitoring unit detects deletion of any shared printer, a notifying unit notifies the client that the shared printer has been deleted. A burden on a network administrator who manages the shared printers is reduced.
