  • Patent number: 8102498
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device realizing improved reliability by preventing occurrence of a pixel defect. A liquid crystal display includes first and second substrates. A spacer maintains a distance between the first and second glass substrates. A liquid crystal layer is provided between the first and second substrates. A pixel electrode film and a common electrode film are formed over a base insulation film of the first substrate so as to sandwich a pixel insulation film in between. The common electrode film, the pixel electrode film or both of them are partly removed in a region corresponding to the spacer, and the pixel insulation film is partly removed in that region. It prevents the film structure from being broken due to deformation of the base insulation film made of a soft material caused by a pressure applied onto the spacer.

  • Patent number: 7391044
Abstract: Load fluctuations caused by a change in moving direction of a linear motor 23 are prevented by affixing a belt 21 tensioned by a pair of pulleys 22 on the linear motor 23 for moving a reading light source portion 31 and affixing a counterweight 26 on the belt 21 at a portion diagonally opposite to the portion where the linear motor 23 is affixed with respect to the center axis of the belt 21. Further, damping devices (magnets 40 and 41) which impart a bias load to the counterweight 26 in the direction perpendicular to the tensioning direction of the belt 21 is provided, so that vibration produced during traveling of the linear motor 23 is suppressed and accordingly the traveling accuracy of the linear motor 23 is increased.

  • Patent number: 7099024
Abstract: A method for forming a recording position adjusting pattern that is capable of correcting a recording position correctly, a method for adjusting the image recording position, and an image recording apparatus are provided. Corrected K color parallel bars are grouped into blocks each of which includes a certain number of bars and plural blocks are printed in block (180, 188), and the color parallel bars are printed between the K color parallel bars with tilt magnitude that is different for every block (182, 190). The optical detection unit detects the block having the highest density among the printed parallel bars (184, 192), the tilt magnitude of the detected block is set as the tilt magnitude of the color to thereby correct the tilt of the color (186, 194). The tilt of each color is corrected in the same manner.
