  • Patent number: 6217017
Abstract: A paper-feeding apparatus is used for feeding print medium from a paper cassette. The paper cassette holds a stack of print paper therein. The feeding roller is disposed close to a forward end of the paper cassette. The feeding roller engages a top page of the stack of print paper to feed the top page from the paper cassette to a printing area. The paper separator engages the feeding roller to cooperate with the feeding roller to separate the top page from the stack of print paper. The paper-positioning member is, for example, an arm. When the feeding roller is not feeding the print medium, the arm pushes back the forward ends of pages of print medium toward the rear end of the paper cassette, thereby aligning the forward ends of the pages of the stack of print paper. The paper feeding apparatus may further have an urging member, e.g., a spring, which urges the paper separator against the feeding roller, and an urging-force-changing member, e.g., a cam that changes an urging force of the urging member.

  • Patent number: 5818487
Abstract: An ink jet printer has a first transporting section adapted to transport a medium on which information is printed. The first transporting section has a first contact area in contact with the medium. A second transporting section is adapted to transport the medium and has a second contact area in contact with the medium. The second contact area is smaller than the first contact area. A selector selectively causes the first and second transporting sections to move into contact engagement with the medium to transport the medium.

  • Patent number: 5085020
Abstract: A portable, assemblable-disassemblable staircase includes a plurality of stair units to be assembled and disassembled, each of the stair units including a horizontal base plate, an upward joint vertically installed at a rear end of the horizontal base plate, the upward joint containing a longitudinal elongated hole bored therein, a downward joint vertically installed at a front end of the horizontal base plate, a nut fixedly installed in the downward joint, a bolt adapted to be spirally inserted into the nut through the longitudinal elongated hole of the upward joint so as to inserting and fixing the downward joint of one stair unit into and to the upward joint of the other stair unit of the plurality of stair units, and a tread to be fixed to the upper surface of the horizontal base plate, whereby the stair units are assembled by alternatively mating with the downward joint and upward joint so that horizontal sections of the downward and upward joints can be prevented from circularizing to be unrotatable.

  • Patent number: 4596104
Abstract: A joint structure for a structural bar assembly, wherein a first bar and a hollow second bar are assembled by inserting of fitting a web of the first bar into a transverse slot of the second bar, and by restoring a stopper plate of the web elastically or forcibly to an upwardly inclined state so as to allow a top end of the stopper plate to engage or contact with an inner surface of a front wall of the second bar after the stopper plate passes through the slot. Joint portions of the first bar and the second bar are not pressed or hit strongly. There is no fear of rusting and eroding in the joint portions owing to injury of plating or painting layers.
