  • Patent number: 8049711
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device including an LCD panel modulating light transmissivities of plural pixels disposed in a matrix form on the basis of respective gradation data; an illumination device for irradiating light to the respective pixels while a ratio (duty ratio) of a lighting time in one frame period is changed; and a display data conversion part for calculating respective lightnesses and a lightness histogram from the respective gradation data, determining a threshold lightness from the lightness histogram on the basis of a previously determined ratio of pixels to be saturated in brightness, processing the respective gradation data on the basis of the threshold lightness to output them to the LCD panel, and outputting duty ratio data to change the duty ratio to the illumination device.

  • Patent number: 8045096
Abstract: In a lighting unit, fluorescent lights and LEDs of different spectroscopic characteristics are alternately arranged in a direction X on an irradiation plane. Light sources of equal light intensity are arranged in a certain pitch for the fluorescent lights such that a uniform light amount is achieved around end portions in the direction X. The LEDs include LEDs aligned on a bottom surface of a chassis and LEDs arranged on an inner sidewall surface of the chassis. As a result, a lighting unit having a uniform amount of light across an entire irradiation plane is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20110244221
Abstract: Provided is the following novel pressure-sensitive adhesive tape. The pressure-sensitive adhesive tape has a moderately weak adhesion during a time period from a production process (during its production) to the time of the accomplishment of the product as a result of the completion of the production (immediately after the production). Accordingly, a peeling failure and the occurrence of a wrinkle resulting from strong adherence of a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to a roll or the like at the time of the production can be sufficiently suppressed. As a result, stable product supply can be performed. On the other hand, the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape can express a sufficiently strong adhesion for an adherend after a lapse of a predetermined time from the production (e.g., at the time of its use).

  • Patent number: 7976176
Abstract: In a lighting unit, fluorescent lights and LEDs having different spectroscopic characteristics are alternately arranged in a direction X on an irradiation plane. The fluorescent lights are arranged in certain intervals so as to provide uniform light intensity even around the end portions of the direction X. The LEDs installed at the ends of the direction X have a light intensity that is weaker than that of other LEDs in order to provide uniform light intensity around the end portions. As a result, the lighting unit provides uniform light intensity across the entire irradiation surface.
