  • Patent number: 5985922
Abstract: Provided is a novel active oxygen-resisting agent which has an excellent active oxygen resistance and which exhibits a good solubility in an oil solvent. An active oxygen-resisting agent containing as an active ingredient an amino acid derivative represented by the following formula (I) ##STR1## wherein Ar represents a substituted or substituted 2-hydroxyphenyl group or a pyridyl group, said substitution being selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, a hydroxyl group, a hydroxy C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, a nitro group, a C.sub.1-6 alkoxyl group or a carboxyl group, R.sup.1 represents a side chain of an amino acid, X represents --O-- or --NH--, R.sup.2 represents a C.sub.8-22 alkyl group, and n represents 0 or 1, or its salt.

  • Patent number: 5594012
Abstract: A novel anti-active oxygen agent which comprises as active ingredient an amino acid derivative represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Ar represents a 2-hydroxyphenyl, 2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl or pyridyl group, and one or more of the hydrogen atoms attached to the aromatic ring of these groups may be substituted with a halogen atom, or an alkyl, hydroxyl, hydroxyalkyl, nitro, alkoxyl or carboxyl group; R represents the side chain of an amino acid; X represents --CH.sub.2 --NH-- or --CH.dbd.N--; Y represents a hydrogen atom, --COOR.sup.1, --SO.sub.3 H, --CON(R.sup.2)R.sup.3, --CONHCH(R.sup.5)COOR.sup.4 or --CH.sub.2 OH (where each of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and R.sup.5 represents the side chain of an amino acid); and n represents an integer of 0 or 1;or its salt, and which inhibits generation of active oxygen species, has a high safety and can be prepared at relatively low costs.

  • Patent number: 4786270
Abstract: A homokinetic tripod type universal joint including a tripod member having three trunnions, with a roller rotatably mounted on each trunnion is mounted in an outer member. The roller consists of an inside ring and an outside ring wherein contact is established between a spherical outer periphery of the inside ring and a cylindrical inner periphery of the outside ring. The outside ring is guided in a direction parallel with the axis of the outer member by guide surfaces provided internally of grooves formed on the outer member. This arrangement helps to reduce sliding resistance, temperature rise and vibrations due to induced thrust.

  • Patent number: 4773890
Abstract: A slidable-type homokinetic tripod joint includes an outer member formed with track grooves, a tripod member having three trunnions and mounted in the outer member with the trunnions on the tripod member received in the track grooves in the outer member, and a spherical roller rotatably mounted on each trunnion. Each track groove is formed at each side with a guide surface for the spherical roller. The spherical roller is kept in contact with the roller guide surface at two points. This decreases unbalanced load and the turning moment acting on the spherical roller and decreases the friction force causing vibration.

  • Patent number: 4670417
Abstract: There is disclosed hemoglobin modified in that a poly(alkylene oxide) is bonded thereto by a bond between a terminal group of said poly(alkylene oxide) and an amino group of said hemoglobin, said bond having the structure:--CH.sub.2 --O--(CH.sub.2)--CONH--Hbwherein Hb represents said hemoglobin and n represents a positive integer, preferably 1 to 7. The modified hemoglobin is an effective oxygen carrier and can therefore be used as a blood substitute.
