  • Patent number: 11970390
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for producing a microchannel device, which can form a channel that has high hydrophobicity, high solvent resistance as well, and also resistance to heat and damage, on demand with high accuracy, and produces the microchannel device at a low cost, while having high productivity. The method for producing a microchannel device includes: forming a channel pattern from a hydrophobic resin on a porous substrate by an electrophotographic method; melting the channel pattern by heat to allow the channel pattern to permeate into the porous substrate, thereby forming a channel in the inside of the porous substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120227098
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for authenticating a user of an application using an operating system. A user can log onto their device, such as at power-up, using a cloud-based ID registered to an online identity service. The user can be authenticated with the operating system on the user's device, using the cloud-based identity for the user, where the operating system may contact the online identity service to authenticate the user. When the user activates an application on the device it may request authentication of the user from the operating system, and an authentication token for the user's cloud-based identity is provided to the application. The application then uses the authentication token to authenticate the user for the application, as long as the application supports the use of the cloud-based ID of the user. In this manner, a subsequent manual user log-in operation is not required.

  • Patent number: 8224897
Abstract: Described techniques enable a particular user to automatically share a piece of content with a group of users. To share the content, the particular user navigates to a Website or the like to identify the desired piece of content. The particular user then chooses to share the piece of content by actuating a button, an icon, or the like displayed within the content (e.g., Web content) or displayed within the browser's toolbar. In some embodiments, the users with whom the piece of content is then shared each include the particular user within a contact list. This document also describes techniques capable of enabling the particular user to allow a third party to select and share a piece of content. In some instances, the piece of content comprises an advertisement. This piece of content may be shared with a group of users that include the particular user as a contact.

Abstract: Functionality is described for collecting data from a presence-based system, such as an instant messaging system. The functionality can extract information from the collected data based on one or more rules. For instance, the functionality can identify presence data and/or message data that includes predetermined key words. The functionality can formulate result information based on the extracted information for presentation to a recipient. Based on these operations, the collected data supports a data-mining operation, as well as the traditional role of facilitating communication among the participants of the presence-based system. The result information can correspond to a report that presents aggregated findings, optionally organized into one or more demographic categories, or the result information can correspond to an advertisement, etc.

  • Patent number: 7653191
Abstract: Dynamic telephone call routing. A voice service initiates a voice call session on a data communication network in response to an incoming telephone call directed to a user and generates a notification of the telephone call. An alerts service receiving and responsive to the notification executes a set of routing rules to select a computing device associated with the user. The alerts service also generates an alert directed to the computing device. If the computing device is online, a messaging service sends the alert to the computing device and receives a user request from the computing device in response thereto. The messaging service communicates the user request to the voice service for completing the voice call session to the computing device if specified by the user request. If the computing device is not online, the telephone call is routed to a telephone device.
