  • Publication number: 20170262719
Abstract: A biometric authentication system includes an information terminal having ID information, an acquisition terminal that acquires biometric information, and an authentication processing apparatus. The processing apparatus includes: a first part that acquires the ID and location information on the information terminal; a second part that communicates with the acquisition terminal to acquire the biometric information; a first storage part for storing an indication that the information terminal is located within a predetermined range; a second storage part that stores the ID and biometric reference information; and a controller.

  • Publication number: 20160224779
Abstract: Two portable key devices are prepared with a wireless communication function enabling communication between the two devices being installed in the devices, and when the biometric authentication is successful, an authentication success text is saved and an unlock signal is emitted, thus the unlocking and enabling operation of the device is controlled. When wireless communication between two portable key devices is interrupted, the biometric authentication success context is discarded, the unlock signal is no longer emitted, and biometric authentication is required to emit the unlock signal again. Thus, the number of biometric authentications required of a user is reduced, and use by another person is limited by discarding the authentication success context when, for example, the key device is accidentally left behind, thereby improving both ease of use and safety.

  • Publication number: 20110222740
Abstract: The present invention provides a finger vein authentication unit which solves problems such that a turn of a finger around the finger as an axis cannot be detected from an image of the finger, a finger cannot be placed normally because the nail is caught in a dent portion, and an image of the contour of a finger cannot be obtained by an image capturing method using an image pickup window which is narrower than a finger and is completely closed with a finger so that a turn of a finger cannot be detected from the counter. A touch sensor having an X-Y matrix capable of obtaining the position and shape of a fingertip is mounted in a fingertip placement part, and the fingertip placement part is formed in a flat shape so that a finger is easily put. From the data of the position and shape of the fingertip read by the sensor, a turn of the finger around the optical axis of the camera as a center, a turn of the finger around the finger as an axis, and a positional deviation of the finger are detected.

  • Patent number: 7885434
Abstract: At least one wrong template for storing features of pattern information imaged on condition unsuitable for biometric authentication is provided and the wrong template information is collated with collation template information produced by extracting features from biometric information when authentication information is registered. When similarity is low, the collation template information is stored in an authentication template. The collation template is collated with the wrong template upon authentication and when similarity is high, authentication processing is not made. Further, when similarity of the collation template information and the wrong template information is high, a guidance message for solving a problem is displayed to the user. Thus, reduction of authentication performance is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20070177769
Abstract: The present invention provides an information processing device includes: a biometrics device, an interface control unit for controlling the biometrics device, a first storage unit for concealing a user identifier and user authentication information, a second storage unit for storing a program executed by the information processing device, and a processor for releasing the concealment of the first storage unit based on the program stored in the second storage unit and acquiring biometrics information inputted from the biometrics device, so as to compare it with the user authentication information. Thus, it is possible to prevent lowering of user-friendliness and increase of the cost when using an external authentication device in a laptop type personal computer and to provide an authentication control configuration and an authentication procedure optimal for an information processing device such as a laptop type personal computer.
