  • Patent number: 9480041
Abstract: Location information of a mobile communication terminal is registered promptly. When the mobile communication terminal receives a first location registration response signal, in which a predefined value indicative of a cause of rejecting the registration of the location information is set, the mobile communication terminal transmits a location registration request signal to a second mobile communication network when there is the second mobile communication network over which the mobile communication terminal can communicate, based on the predefined value. When it is determined that there is not the second mobile communication network or the location registration of the mobile communication terminal in the second mobile communication network is not completed, the mobile communication terminal carries out a first location registration operation of retransmitting the location registration request signal to the first mobile communication network.

  • Patent number: 8055260
Abstract: The unnecessarily increase of the information amount of subscriber information retained by a local subscriber information management device is prevented even if the number of subscribers increases, so that the limit of the number of subscribers is extended to support the increasing number of subscribers without increasing the capacity of subscriber information retaining means in the local station (local subscriber information management device). Based on information contained in subscriber management information 211, 221 including information representing each mobile terminal 310, 320 acquired by local stations 210, 220 of a mobile communication system 100 and subscriber information corresponding to each mobile terminal 310, 320, the relevant subscriber management information 211, 221 are selected and processed to be prevented from being retained after call control is performed according to the acquired subscriber management information.

  • Publication number: 20090149177
Abstract: Even if the number of subscribers increases, such increased number of the subscribers can be handled by a mobile communication system without increasing the equipment of the system, so that the assignment of the radio resources should not be constrained due to excessive location registration. A MSC of a mobile communication system determines a location registration period for each of mobile terminals according to subscriber information retained by HLR or VLR. In this case, a relatively long location registration period is set for the mobile terminal incorporated into a vending machine and having a weak mobility, as compared to the mobile terminal that frequently moves. This eliminates the wasteful operation of performing the location registration in a uniform period with the mobile terminal that frequently moves, so as to avoid the situation in which the assignment of the radio resources are constrained.

  • Patent number: 7336955
Abstract: When a location-area MSC 20 receives an SMS originating signal, an interrogating unit 21 sends an SRIforSM signal including the MSISDN of a receiving terminal 10b to an HLR 30. When the location-area MSC 20 receives an SRIforSMack signal from the HLR 30, a subscriber-identification-information obtaining unit 22 obtains an IMUI contained in the SRIforSMack. An on-origination carrier identifying unit 23 identifies from the IMUI the carrier to which the receiving terminal 10b subscribes. The location-area MSC 20 determines whether the carriers have an SMS interconnection agreement with each other, on the basis of identification made by an on-origination carrier identifying unit 23.

  • Publication number: 20050143076
Abstract: There are provided an interconnection agreement determining system, apparatus, and method capable of accurately determining whether the carrier to which an originating communication terminal subscribes and the carrier to which a receiving communication terminal subscribes have a short message interconnection agreement with each other, even if the receiving communication terminal uses number portability. When a location-area MSC 20 receives an SMS originating signal, an interrogating unit 21 sends an SRIforSM signal including the MSISDN of a receiving terminal 10b to an HLR 30.
