  • Patent number: 7628546
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to suppress a decrease in the optical function of a sleeve by ensuring that a liquid chemical substance is not apt to remain on a peripheral surface of the sleeve even when the liquid chemical substance enters a connector. • Patent number: 7393763
Abstract: There is provided a monocrystalline gallium nitride localized substrate suitable for manufacturing electronic-optical united devices in which electronic devices and optical devices are mixedly mounted on the same silicon substrate. An area in which monocrystalline gallium nitride 410 is grown is locally present on a silicon substrate 100 by forming silicon carbide 200 on the silicon substrate 100 to locally form the monocrystalline gallium nitride 410 on the above-mentioned silicon carbide 200. Silicon nitride 220 is used as a mask in forming the above-mentioned monocrystalline gallium nitride 410.

  • Patent number: 7244067
Abstract: An optical connector to be connected to an optical plug holding optical fibers includes: a light-emitting element; a light-receiving element; and sleeves that optically connect the light-emitting element and the light-receiving element to optical fibers of the optical plug, respectively, in which a transmission sleeve and a reception sleeve are connected to each other via a link section to form a sleeve unit. The sleeve unit is secured by press-fitting the link section into a connector body. A stress caused by the press fitting is not exerted to the transmission sleeve and the reception sleeve, so that the optical functions (optical properties) of the sleeves can be prevented from being compromised by the stress.

  • Patent number: 7153041
Abstract: An optical connector with a shutter which minimizes the accommodating space for the shutter of inward opening type. The shutter opening inward in accordance with the insertion of the plug is provided near the inlet of the plug inserting hole of the case. A shutter biasing spring holding the shutter in the closed position is a torsion coil spring including a pair of arms projecting in two directions from the coil part. The shutter biasing spring is arranged so that the coil part faces towards the hole back side between the back surface of the shutter and the inner wall surface of the case. When the shutter opens and lies along the inner wall surface, both arms are sandwiched between the shutter and the inner wall surface of the case, and the coil part is positioned outside between the shutter and the inner wall surface of the case.

Abstract: An EL-illuminated switch which restrains the deterioration of an EL element resulting from outside pressure without causing unevenness of illumination, including an EL sheet, a rubber sheet, a dome switch, and a substrate. In the EL sheet, a luminescent part is formed at a position directly under a key top. The size of the luminescent part is smaller than the key top. A transparent electrode is disposed on the front surface side of the luminescent part, and a back surface electrode is disposed on the rear surface side. The transparent electrode is larger than the luminescent part. The back surface electrode includes an electrode principal part that is in contact with the back surface of the luminescent part and isolated from the lower sheet.

  • Patent number: 7114856
Abstract: An optical connector socket includes: a body having an insertion section in which a socket-side optical element is arranged and into which an optical connector plug is inserted; a cover, covered on the body, having an opening communicated with the insertion section; a shutter, openably/closably attached to the cover, for closing the opening; and a herical spring for elastically urging the shutter in a constant-closing direction. The opening is larger than an outside dimension of the optical connector plug inserted into the cover and smaller than that of the shutter. Therefore, there is no light leakage and dust intrusion, the socket can be attached to a device or a wall so as to direct an opening toward a front face without a cap, and an inspection in a state where the socket is assembled in an electronic device can be performed without attaching/detaching the cap to/from the socket.

  • Publication number: 20060177182
Abstract: An optical fiber connector component having a cylindrical light guide member (32) made of a transparent and elastic material, and a pipe (31) for housing the light guide member in the interior, wherein end surfaces (301) and (302) for connecting the light guide member with optical fibers are either convex or concave surfaces, and the distal end of the pipe protrudes past the connecting surfaces in the axial direction of the pipe. The radii of curvature of the connecting end surfaces of the light guide member differ from the radii of curvature of the distal end surfaces of the optical fibers. Therefore, when the distal ends of the optical fibers are inserted through the pipe and pressed against the connecting end surfaces of the light guide member, the connecting end surfaces deform, causing the contact areas to expand outward from the center, and air between the contact surfaces to be expelled.

  • Patent number: 7086878
Abstract: The present invention seeks to provide an optical connector with an in-swinging shutter for closing a plug insertion opening of the connector, to avoid interference between the shutter and a plug holding part provided inside a plug insertion hole, to avoid increase in the outer dimensions of the connector by suppressing the accommodating space of the shutter. The in-swinging shutter has a two-piece hinge configuration in combination of a main shutter on the basal side and a sub shutter on the distal side. The sub shutter is hinge-coupled to the opening side end of the main shutter. The main shutter is elastically held at the closed position by a bias spring. The sub shutter is elastically held by another bias spring in a bent state in which it is bent towards the insertion opening side, or in a straightened state extending along the extended line of the basal side shutter.
