  • Publication number: 20120020693
Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning a belt member, includes a cleaning blade; a removing member coming in contact with the surface of the belt member so as to remove foreign matter adhering on the surface of the belt member; and a contact pressure changing section to change a contact pressure between the removing member to the belt member, wherein, when the contact pressure between the removing member and a region of the belt member corresponding in position to a toner image to be not transferred to a paper sheet is made P1, and the contact pressure between the removing member and a region of the belt member corresponding in position to a toner image to be transferred to a paper sheet is made P2, the contact pressure changing section changes the contact pressure to satisfy the conditional formula: (P1<P2).

  • Publication number: 20100329714
Abstract: An image forming apparatus including: a photoreceptor; a charging section to charge the photoreceptor; a developing section to develop a latent image; a transfer section to transfer the developed image to a transfer sheet using a contact transfer method; a cleaning section to remove a remaining toner on the photoreceptor; a control section that performs control so that a toner image is formed in an image forming region, the toner image is transferred to the transfer sheet, and a toner image is formed which is not transferred to the transfer sheet in a region between image forming regions on the photoreceptor; and a charge elimination section provided between the transfer section and the cleaning section; wherein the control section controls polarities of electric current applied to the transfer section and the charge elimination section so that the polarities differ between the image forming region and the region between images.
