  • Patent number: 6605179
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for bonding optical disk substrates, includes placing a pair of optical disk substrates on a stage while securing a height difference at an upper face of the stage loading the substrates between an upper face at a side of a center of the substrates and an upper face at a side of an outer circumference of the substrates. The method and the apparatus also includes photosetting the adhesive layer on the stage by irradiating a setting light to the substrate pair, thereby photosetting the adhesive layer and bonding the substrates.

  • Patent number: 6231705
Abstract: A method for laminating boards includes placing boards with a narrow gap therebetween, inserting an adhesive injection nozzle the gap, discharging of adhesive from the nozzle into the gap so that the discharged adhesive makes into contact with the two boards, continuing discharging the adhesive while the boards are being rotated in a planar direction thereof so that the adhesive is placed in a loop within the gap, retreating the nozzle from the gap, and narrowing the gap between the boards so that the adhesive is spread throughout the gap.

  • Patent number: 6231706
Abstract: Substrates to be paired are alternately aligned. One substrate of a pair of substrates adjacent to each other is turned over thereby to face the other substrate, and the substrates held in a state facing each other are sent to a bonding position. An adhesive is supplied annularly into an interval of the substrates, and the substrates are rotated in a planar direction to thereby narrow the interval and eventually spread the adhesive in a radial direction to form an adhesive layer. The lower substrate is supported from below and carried from the bonding position to a setting position, and the adhesive layer is set, whereby an optical disk is obtained. The optical disk is taken out from the setting position.

  • Patent number: 6025012
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus which is capable of discharging a process liquid to a rotating substrate at a very constant rate irrespective of variations in the state of the process liquid. A process liquid is discharged toward a rotating substrate by nozzles which are moved from inner to outer radius sides of the rotating substrate. The present invention further provides a method in which film thickness control conditions are determined based on a simulation of a behavior of a process liquid on a substrate.

  • Patent number: 5917181
Abstract: A profile measuring apparatus provided with an improved probe for measuring profiles throughout a wide area of the surface of an object with a high level of response and high accuracy. The probe 10 comprises an arm 3 having a stylus 1 fixedly mounted to the distal end thereof, which is coupled to a stationary part 11 of the apparatus by an arm holding member 5 made of a V-shaped leaf spring in such a way that the arm 3 is tilted in one axial direction by a contact pressure exerted thereto during measurement. Displacement of the arm 3 is thereby detected through measuring an elastic deformation of the leaf spring caused by the contact pressure exerted to the stylus 1 being pressed against the surface to be measured.

  • Patent number: 5107337
Abstract: An optical system of a video camera is moved to a plurality of positions having a minute predetermined interval, and detected video images of an object at the respective positions are memorized in a frame memory in turn, the video images are compared with each other, and the video image having the highest contrast is selected, thus the position at which the video image having the highest contrast is detected is recognized as a focused position, and the optical system is shifted to the position.

  • Patent number: 4923552
Abstract: A method of producing a liquid crystal display element comprising the steps of placing too substrates opposite to each other through gap structures, superposing the two substrates through a sealing agent, fixing the substrates to a fixing base, placing a transparent plastic sheet on the substrate, evacuating the space between the fixing base and the plastic sheet to produce a vacuum so as to press the substrates together under vacuum, and photo-setting the sealing agent press-bonded to the substrates. Since insertion of the substrates into a plastic bag and vacuum packing thereof are not required for pressing the substrates, slippage in the alignment of the substrates does not easily occur. In addition, since there are not steps of heat-setting and insertion into and extraction from a bag, the number of steps and the cost of materials are reduced, and the process can be easily automated.
