  • Patent number: 6048180
Abstract: A high-pressure fuel supply pump with high performance is capable of securely preventing a cylinder section from seizing up and also permits improved sealing performance to minimize the chance of fuel leakage. The high-pressure fuel supply pump has: a casing (48) having a cylindrical cavity (48a); a sleeve (40) which has a cylinder section (40a) and a fixing section (40c), one end thereof closer to the fixing section (40c) being abutted against the bottom of the cavity (48a); and a piston (53) which is disposed in the cylinder section (40a). The high-pressure fuel supply pump takes in fuel through an intake passage (36) by the reciprocation of the piston (53) into a fuel pressurizing chamber (52) to pressurize it, then discharges the pressurized fuel through a discharge passage (37) to forcibly feed it into a fuel injector of a cylinder injection engine.

  • Patent number: 5957674
Abstract: A variable-discharge high pressure pump capable of facilitating the manufacturing and providing sufficient lubrication. The pump comprises a cam shaft provided with a cam surface by which a tappet displaces in accordance with the cam surface, a plunger connected to the tappet to reciprocate in accordance with the reciprocation of the tappet and accommodated in a cylindrical cylinder. Also included are a cylinder head having a contact surface brought into contact with one end surface of the cylinder. The cylinder head has a small-diameter recess portion made in the contact surface to be coupled to the cylinder and constitutes a pump chamber in conjunction with a head portion of the plunger.

  • Patent number: 5847471
Abstract: A starter in which a flange member is mounted to the starter body in accordance with the mounting conditions of the engine. An output shaft is disposed coaxially with the rotating shaft of the motor, and a front housing of the overhang type is used. Changing the mounting angle does not change the position of the motor, so that by simply replacing the flange member, a common front housing can be used to allow mounting in accordance with a larger number of mounting conditions. In addition, the tabular shape of the flange member allows die costs to be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5684334
Abstract: A starter device having a reduced output shaft diameter is provided. A stopper mechanism for impeding the outward movement of the pinion (12) along the output shaft (3a) is implemented by forming the helical splines (31) on the output shaft (3a) as being alternately open (31a, 31b) and closed (32a) helical splines. The thrust washer (21), for bearing the outward axial force of the output shaft (3a), is disposed in the front bracket (5) of the starter in front of the front bearing (16) and opposed to the front end (3d) of the output shaft (3a). Both the stopper mechanism and thrust washer configuration according to the invention allow for a reduced diameter of the output shaft (3a). The reduced diameter of the output shaft, in turn, affords the option of making the pinion (12) smaller in diameter.

  • Patent number: 5679935
Abstract: A moving contact assembly to which a moving contact is fitted so as to allow a normally open common fixed contact part to elude the moving contact and axially pass through is mounted detachably on a fixed core. A contact mold having a normally closed fixed contact part and a cap switch provided with a normally open fixed contact part, a normally closed common fixed contact part, and a normally open common fixed contact part are made axially separable. The contact mold is turned 90 degrees in one direction to allow the normally open common fixed contact part to elude the moving contact and axially pass through. Thus, when the contact mold is turned 90 degrees in the other direction to the contact mold's former condition, the moving contact can be positioned within a recessed groove of a common fixed contact.

  • Patent number: 5675202
Abstract: Irregularities on the face of the pulley groove of the pulley for driving the rotor shaft of the generator through the one-way clutch are positively extended and a frictional force between the face and the belt is increased, so that a higher torque than the drag torque can be transmitted to the one-way clutch without causing a slippage of the belt. Since no slippage occurs on the belt, the belt life can be extended. Since the one way clutch is positively operated, the inertial energy of the rotor can be effectively recovered.

  • Patent number: 5620074
Abstract: A one way clutch which permits the contact surfaces 20a of the chucks 20 of a chucking jig for chucking a clutch outer 12 to be easily machined, and the clutch outer has a plurality of taper-shaped cutouts 1a and arc-shaped support surfaces 12a serving as machining reference surfaces, each defined on the inner periphery of the clutch outer. Since the clutch outer is produced by being machined using the support surfaces as a machining reference, the contact surfaces of chucks can be easily machined.

  • Patent number: 5548171
Abstract: A direct-current motor is provided with a field pole including a main magnetic pole having an axial length of Lm and an auxiliary magnetic pole; and an armature core which is rotatably supported opposite to the inner peripheral side of the main magnetic pole and rotated by the excitation force of the field pole and has an axial length of Lc. The direct-current motor which satisfies the relation of Lm>Lc is such that the corner portions of the main magnetic pole are formed so that the relation between the axial length Ln of the straight section of the main magnetic pole and Lc satisfies 1.15 Lc>Ln.gtoreq.Lc. Therefore, a direct-current motor can be made more lightweight without changing its output characteristics by cutting down the corner portions of the main magnetic pole.
