  • Publication number: 20230382673
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a printing unit, and first, second, and third conveyance paths. The printing unit performs printing at a printing position on a print medium conveyed in a conveyance direction. The first conveyance path causes the print medium to pass through the printing position of the printing unit. The second conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium, and the third conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium. The second conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at a first branching point on a downstream side of the printing position in the conveyance direction and merges into the first conveyance path on an upstream side of the printing position. The third conveyance path branches from a second branching point on the second conveyance path and merges into the first conveyance path on the upstream side of the printing position.

  • Publication number: 20230364927
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a supply unit, a supply path, first and second conveyance paths, a printing unit, and an inversion roller. The first conveyance path conveys, to a first direction, a print medium. The printing unit prints an image on the two surface of the print medium. The inversion roller inverts a conveyance direction of the print medium and conveys the print medium in a second direction. The second conveyance path conveys the print medium conveyed in the second direction to the first conveyance path while inverting the print medium. When performing printing on both sides of print media, the print media are convey such that a first print medium supplied from the second conveyance path and a second print medium supplied from the supply path overlap in the first conveyance path.

  • Publication number: 20230302831
Abstract: A recording apparatus to record an image on a sheet includes a roller pair and a switching unit. The roller pair sandwiches the sheet between the roller pair to convey the sheet. The switching unit switches between a first state in which the roller pair sandwiches the sheet and a second state in which rollers of the roller pair are separated from each other. The switching unit includes a first movable member that is moved in a first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state, and includes a second movable member that is moved in a second direction different from the first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state.

  • Patent number: 8944557
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes conveyance roller pair disposed on the upstream side of a recording unit. An image formation operation is forbidden once the trailing edge of a recording medium has passed the conveyance roller pair, to reduce margin amount at the trailing edge of the recording medium. In a case where determination is made that the distance from the trailing edge of the recording medium to the conveyance roller pair is smaller than a first conveyance amount, the recording medium is conveyed by a second conveyance amount which is smaller than the first conveyance amount, so that the trailing edge of the recording medium is on the upstream side of the conveyance roller pair and that the distance from the trailing edge of the recording medium to the conveyance roller pair is smaller than a predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 8789491
Abstract: A cap sheet metal (and pivot sheet metal) is configured to be able to move linearly with a cap arm (and an arm stay) via engagement between an engagement hole and a fitting shaft. Furthermore, the cap sheet metal (and the pivot sheet metal) can move pivotally with respect to the cap arm (and the arm stay) using the fitting shaft, which engages with the engagement hole, as a pivotal shaft. Thus, even if, for example, the direction of biasing toward the applying roller deviates or a positional relationship with the applying roller deviates slightly, the liquid holding member moves and pivots in the bias direction depending on the deviation. As a result, the contacting pressure of a contacting portion on the applying roller can be made uniform.

  • Patent number: 8220411
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid applying apparatus that enables the viscosity of a liquid to be applied and the condition of supply of the liquid to be detected using conventional mechanisms and without the need for a viscometer or the like, thus allowing prevention of improper application of the liquid to a medium and mitigation of wear of an applying roller or the like, the apparatus having an inexpensive configuration. Thus, according to the present invention, a driving load on an applying roller driving motor is detected when an applying roller is driven. If the driving load is equal to or more than a preset threshold, an operation of re-supplying the liquid is performed by a pump, or an operation of the roller driving motor is stopped.
