Abstract: A novel packing material suitable for high pressure liquid chromatography comprising the chemically bonded, crosslinked reaction product of porous inorganic particles, with an organic silane compound having epoxy groups on the surface of the particles, and then with polyvinyl alcohol, in which the hydroxyl groups of the polyvinyl alcohol and the epoxy groups on the silane moieties react to form ether bonds, which cover almost or almost completely the residual silica hydroxyl groups on the surface of the support.

Abstract: A photographic support comprising a paper sheet coated with a polyolefin resin on both surfaces thereof, in which at least one of the polyolefin resin layer comprises:40-75 parts by weight of a high density polyethylene having a melt index of 15-40 g./10 min. and a density of not less than 0.945 g./cm.sup.3, and60-25 parts by weight of a low density polyethylene having a melt index of 1-40 g./10 min. and a density of not higher than 0.930 g./cm.sup.3.

Abstract: A photographic material capable of receiving and retaining an aqueous ink or other similar materials on the back surface, which is able to serve as a post card, is disclosed. The photographic material comprises a water-proof support comprising a paper sheet coated with a polyolefin resin on both surfaces thereof, and a photographic emulsion layer provided onto one of the surfaces of the support, in which another surface of the support is provided with a gelatin layer containing an inorganic pigment and one or more of specific gelatin hardening agents.

Abstract: A polyolefin-paper laminate comprising (a) a base paper, (b) a copolymer of (1) at least one diene monomer and (2) at least one monovinyl substituted aromatic compound incorporated into or coated on the base paper, and (c) an extrusion coated polyolefin layer thereon. The base paper (a) impregnated with or coated with the copolymer (b) can be optionally subjected to a corona discharge treatment prior to extrusion coating of the polyolefin layer (c).

Abstract: A support for photographic paper coated with a resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin and about 5 to about 25 parts by weight of a low molecular weight polyolefin having a number average molecular weight of about 1,500 to about 10,000. A photographic light-sensitive material comprising such a support is also disclosed.

Abstract: A photographic support comprising a polyolefin coating on both surfaces of a paper sheet, in which the surface reflection characteristics are in a range of L being above 90, a being from 0.5 to 1.5 and b being from -3 to -5 on the surface on which an image forming layer is to be coated, with the surface reflection characteristics being measured in accordance with JIS Z8722 and defined in accordance with JIS Z8730.
