When the optical sensor detects an object during a casting period after molten metal is supplied to the upper mold and the lower mold tilted by the second drive unit until the molten metal is cooled, the control unit does not shut off power supplies to the first drive unit and the second drive unit, causes the first drive unit to continue mold closing and causes the second drive unit to hold the tilting position.
