    Abstract: A drive unit includes: a rotating electric machine having a rotation axis extending in a horizontal direction; a rotating electric machine case which accommodates the rotating electric machine; and a power conversion device converting electric power supplied to the rotating electric machine and electric power supplied from the rotating electric machine. The power conversion device is arranged on one side of the rotating electric machine. A first connector portion, to which a power line connected to a battery is connected, is provided on an upper portion of the power conversion device to face the horizontal direction. The first connector portion includes an internal connection portion connected to a conductive member arranged inside the power conversion device, and the first connector portion has a configuration in which the internal connection portion permits access from an upper side of the power conversion device.

In-low-speed mode, a drive torque outputted from the second pulley 12 is transmitted to a differential via the second transmission gear assembly, a second low-speed gear 23, and a low final gear 16, whereas in high-speed mode, a drive torque outputted from the first pulley is transmitted to the differential via a high final gear 18.

    Abstract: Column packings for liquid chromatography comprising porous granules which have hydrophilic surfaces prepared by calcining a crystalline clay mineral having a fibrous structure. Median pore diameter of the porous ceramic granules is in the range of from 0.001 .mu.m to 0.01 .mu.m. The crystalline clay mineral can be sepiolite or attapulgite. The column packings for liquid chromatography have high mechanical strength, are presssure resistant and very stable to elutants having a high pH value and/or a high polarity so that the separating characteristics thereof are not changed even after long use.
