  • Publication number: 20050031553
Abstract: To avoid “adhesion” to a spatula or a vessel and “stringiness”, which are problems associated with the conventional gel-like tooth whitening material, to give excellent “adhesiveness to a tooth surface”, and to prevent “outflow from a tray”, a gel-like tooth whitening material composition contains 60 to 90 parts by weight of a polyhydric alcohol as a primary solvent, 0.5 to 15 parts by weight of a methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer as a thickener, and 1 to 25 parts by weight of urea peroxide as a whitening component, the methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer being neutralized to a pH range of 5 to 7 under a condition containing no water, the methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer being preferably a copolymer crosslinked with 1,9-decadiene, and the thickener containing preferably the methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer in a proportion of 20% by weight or more.

  • Publication number: 20040180008
Abstract: To eliminate a defect in conventional dental bleaching agent, that light for activating titanium oxide hardly reaches down to the titanium oxide at the teeth surface to be bleached, a dental bleaching agent set consists of two components of which the first component is attached to teeth surface and irradiation of light is followed after the second component is contacted on the teeth surface, the first component consisting of an organic solvent, containing at least one of a titanium oxide, a nitrogen doped titanium oxide, and a titanium oxinitride having photocatalytic activities, and preferably one or more of a metal oxide, a metal salt, and a metal powder, a thickener and water, the second component consisting of a compound that produces hydrogen peroxide in water, a thickener and a carrier.

  • Publication number: 20040063068
Abstract: To improve a dental diamond bur used in clinical dental treatments and in dental laboratories for cutting and shaving natural teeth and dental prostheses such as dental fillings, dentures and artificial teeth by making it more difficult for the cutting debris to entangle on the bur and also make the bur superior in debris removal easiness and cutting feelings, a dental diamond bur is structured such that diamond grains having an average diameter of 0.01 to 50 &mgr;m are attached to the head of the bur body by a plated metal layer containing fluorine compound grains that are almost uniformly dispersed and have an average diameter smaller than that of the diamond grains, the volume fraction of fluorine compound grains in the plated metal layer being desirably 0.1 to 60% and, when the plated metal layer is a plated nickel layer, the plated metal layer desirably further containing 0.1 to 15% by weight of a phosphorus compound.

  • Publication number: 20040047816
Abstract: A method for bleaching teeth comprises steps of applying a solution containing nitrogen-deeped titanium oxide powder on a surface of teeth, and irradiating the applied part with light to bleach the teeth based on a photocatalytic action thus produced, and a bleaching agent for teeth suitable for carrying out the method comprises a solution containing nitrogen-deeped titanium oxide powder, in which the nitrogen-deeped titanium oxide is preferably a photocatalytic substance having a Ti—O—N structure having a titanium oxide crystalline lattice containing nitrogen and exhibiting a photocatalytic action in a visible light region, the bleaching agent contains preferably 0.01 to 5% by weight of the nitrogen-deeped titanium oxide powder, the nitrogen-deeped titanium oxide powder has a specific surface area of from 10 to 500 m2/g, the solution contains water and/or an alcohol as a solvent, and the bleaching agent further contains preferably 0.

  • Patent number: 6565356
Abstract: A dental diamond bur is provided, which is applicable for operations including from opening of a pulp chamber to spreading of a root canal orifice to any teeth of anterior teeth and molars; does not cut out a tooth orifice portion more than needed; cuts out a tooth orifice surface into a smooth curve surface form, thereby improving the adhesion between a filler and a tooth in that cut-out site; and is free from occurrence of perforation, in the root canal treatment. The dental diamond bur includes a tip portion that is a body of revolution with a convergent smooth curve, having a diameter in a shank portion side thereof of 0.5 to 0.8 mm and a height of 0.5 to 0.85 mm; and a diamond grains-attached portion that is a body of revolution with an externally convex curve from a rear end of the front end portion toward a shank portion, a maximum diameter portion of the diamond grains-attached portion being positioned in a range of 5.0 to 10.

  • Patent number: 6444597
Abstract: A dental paste-like porcelain is disclosed, including a mixture in a paste-like state of from 7 to 45 parts by weight of a binder comprising a synthetic and/or natural, hydrophilic group-containing polymeric material dissolved in one or two or more organic solvents selected from a dihydric or trihydric alcohol, a hydroxyl group-remaining ether and a hydroxy(meth) acrylate, and/or water and having a viscosity, as measured at a constant temperature of 23° C. and at a conversion constant of 1.61×104 under the conditions that a revolution number is 1 rpm, of from 50,000 to 1,500,000 cps, andaporcelain powder as a remainder, with a total amount being 100 parts by weight. The dental paste-like porcelain according to the invention does not require a condensation procedure. Accordingly, even a beginner can easily carry out the porcelain application of prostheses over a wide range including from a single crown to a bridge, without necessity of the skill.

Abstract: A dental material comprising a porous ceramics formed into an artificial tooth, an inlay, an onlay, a crown, a crown bridge or into a block shape suitable for CAD/CAM, sintered, having communicating holes, and impregnated with a resin. A porous ceramics formed from a network-forming oxide is applicable, and an intermediate oxide and a network-modifying oxide may also be adopted. The porous ceramics should preferably have a porosity within a range of from 0.5 to 70%. The resin should preferably a polymer of a monomer and/or oligomer containing at least an ethylenic double bond.
