  • Publication number: 20140037308
Abstract: An image heating apparatus includes: a rotatable heating member for heating a toner image formed on a recording material by using a toner containing a parting agent; an exciting coil for causing the rotatable heating member to generate heat by electromagnetic induction heating; a magnetic flux suppressing member for suppressing a part of magnetic flux acting from the exciting coil onto the rotatable heating member; a moving mechanism for moving the magnetic flux suppressing member depending on a width size of the recording material; a motor for operating the moving mechanism; and an executing portion capable of selectively executing an operation in a first mode in which a first current is supplied to the motor and an operation in a second mode in which a second current larger than the first current is supplied to the motor.

  • Patent number: 8554097
Abstract: An image heating apparatus includes an image heater for heating an image on a recording material. The apparatus also includes a first temperature detecting member that detects a temperature of the image heating member, with the first temperature detecting member provided in a sheet processing region for a recording material of a minimum size. A controller is also provided for controlling electric power supply to the image heater on the basis of an output of the first temperature detecting member. Further provided is a second temperature detecting member is that is capable of detecting a temperature of the image heating member when the image heating member is contacted or is not contacted with a belt. A controller is also provided for controlling the image heating operation on the basis of the temperature of the image heating member.

  • Publication number: 20120163838
Abstract: A sheet conveying apparatus includes: a rotating member configured to rotate by being pushed by a leading edge of a sheet being conveyed; a sensor configured to output a signal corresponding to a position of the rotating member; a first abutting portion provided on the rotating member and with which the leading edge of the sheet being conveyed comes into contact; and a second abutting portion provided on the rotating member on a side opposite from the first abutting portion with respect to a rotation shaft of the rotating member and configured to come into contact with the sheet being conveyed in the course of the rotation of the rotating member by being pushed by the leading edge of the sheet being conveyed.

  • Publication number: 20090162116
Abstract: An image heating apparatus, including: a belt for heating a toner image formed on a sheet in a heating nip portion; a rotary member for forming the heating nip portion in cooperation with the belt and rotating the belt in conjunction with a rotation of the rotary member; a changing device for changing a pressure between the belt and the rotary member; and a warm-up device for starting a rotation of the belt by the rotary member with the pressure between the belt and the rotary member set to a first pressure, and thereafter changing the pressure between the belt and the rotary member from the first pressure to a second pressure higher than the first pressure after a lapse of a predetermined period of time from a start of the rotation of the belt so that the belt is rotated by the rotary member at the second pressure.
