  • Publication number: 20210093839
Abstract: A guide wire includes a core shaft and a coil body including a wire wound around the core shaft. The wire includes a long axis and a short axis in a transverse section. The coil body includes an inclined portion where an angle formed by the long axis of the wire and an axial line of the coil body is acute.

  • Publication number: 20210093840
Abstract: A guide wire includes a first core shaft, a second core shaft, and a covering portion. The second core shaft is made of a material more susceptible to plastic deformation than a material of the first core shaft, and has a proximal end side joined to a distal end side of the first core shaft. The covering portion covers (i) a joint part between the first and second core shafts, and (ii) at least a part of the second core shaft on a distal end side of the joint part. The guide wire includes a first region where the second core shaft on a distal end side of the joint part is covered by the covering portion, and a second region adjacent to the first region, where the joint part is covered by the covering portion. The first region is more susceptible to plastic deformation than the second region.

  • Patent number: 10792474
Abstract: A guidewire includes a core shaft, a coil body disposed around an outer periphery of the core shaft, and a resin layer. The resin layer includes a proximal end part disposed around an outer periphery of the coil body; a distal end part located between the core shaft and the coil body distal to the proximal end part and having an outer diameter that is smaller than an outer diameter of the proximal end part; and a tapered part located between the proximal end part and the distal end part and having an outer diameter that decreases in the distal direction. The distal end part of the coil body is not covered with the resin layer. The guidewire has improved rotation performance (operativity) while maintaining insertability, and a risk that a distal end the resin layer will detach from the guidewire is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20200289795
Abstract: A guidewire comprises a core shaft, a coil body covering a distal end portion of the core shaft, and a coating agent covering an outer periphery of the coil body, wherein the coil body includes a distal coil body disposed on a distal side of the coil body, and a proximal coil body disposed on a proximal side of the distal coil body, a surface roughness of the proximal coil body is higher than a surface roughness of the distal coil body.

  • Patent number: 10493234
Abstract: A catheter has excellent torque transmissivity and excellent flexibility, thus enabling easy insertion of the catheter into a blocked portion of a blood vessel. Additionally, the catheter easily restores to its original form even when the catheter is curved and deformed a large amount. Thus, a break at a border area between a catheter main body part and a distal end tip is prevented when the catheter is bent and deformed. This improves the operability of the catheter with a combination device such as a guide wire. The catheter includes a hollow coil body formed of at least one helically wound stranded wire. The at least stranded wire includes a plurality of wires wound into a helical structure.

  • Publication number: 20150306357
Abstract: A guidewire includes a shaft, an outer coil wound around a distal end portion of the shaft, and an inner coil provided within the outer coil. The outer coil is formed by winding a plurality of stranded wires in a spiral manner, each of the stranded wires being formed of a plurality of elemental wires twisted together, and the direction of winding of the outer coil is opposite to the direction of winding of the inner coil.
