  • Patent number: 8779397
Abstract: A substrate cover 40 includes a conductive portion 41 having a shape corresponding to a peripheral edge region of a substrate. Since at least part of the conductive portion includes transmissive portions 47 each formed of a light transmissive member, it is configured so as to allow desired light to penetrate through. The position of each edge portion of the substrate is detected in such a manner that the substrate is disposed with the substrate cover 40 placed thereon between light irradiation means and a light detecting unit, irradiation light directed from the light irradiation means located above the substrate to the edge portion of the substrate is made to penetrate through at least part of the substrate cover 40, the edge portion of the substrate is then irradiated with light from the irradiation means.

  • Publication number: 20140047444
Abstract: In a virtual machine system, an arrangement of virtual machines, which has fault tolerance, is performed. A virtual machine managing apparatus includes a similar group generating unit and an arrangement restriction generating unit. The similar group generating unit generates a group of virtual machines having a similarity relationship which indicates that performance values of virtual machines at each timing are approximately the same, out of plural virtual machines. The arrangement restriction generating unit outputs the group of virtual machines having the similarity relationship as a distributed-arrangement restriction indicating a group of virtual machines to be arranged on different processing apparatuses among plural processing apparatuses carrying out processes of the virtual machines.

  • Publication number: 20130074478
Abstract: A device of an engine having a plurality of cylinders includes: exhaust passages each connected with either a single cylinder or two or more cylinders having non-adjacent exhaust order; a manifold section connected with each downstream end of the exhaust passages; a catalyst device downstream of the manifold section; and a valve driver. Within a low-speed and high-load engine operating range, the valve driver drives intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder such that, for a particular cylinder, a period of positive valve overlap overlaps an exhaust valve opening time of another cylinder adjacent in the exhaust order. The manifold section includes a part that reduces in diameter downstream from the upstream end of the manifold section, and a straight part with a substantially fixed flow area extending upstream from the downstream end of the manifold section. In this way, negative pressure may be generated due to an ejector effect.

  • Publication number: 20110032250
Abstract: A storage stores content information for a trial version of an application program assigned identification information and content information for a product version; a license information acquisition unit acquires license information for the application program by referring to request information acknowledged by an input acknowledging unit; a determination unit determines whether the license information for the application program is stored in the memory by referring to the identification information; and a display processing unit generates a display screen using first content information until the determination unit determines that the license information is stored, and generates a display screen using second content information when the determination unit determines that the license information is stored.

  • Publication number: 20090265587
Abstract: A user terminal includes a software list storage unit for storing a software list, a knowledge base storage unit for storing a knowledge base, a knowledge base input unit for inputting a knowledge base from a relay server, and a new failure notification unit for transmitting new failure information to the relay server in the event of a new failure. The relay server relays data transmissions between the user terminal and a knowledge supply server. Each of knowledge supply server includes a knowledge base creation unit for creating a knowledge base and a knowledge base transmission unit for transmitting the created knowledge base to the relay server. Upon receipt of new failure information, the knowledge base creation unit adds knowledge information about the new failure information to a knowledge base.

  • Patent number: 7496752
Abstract: A client terminal reads a device ID fixedly assigned to itself, and sends the device ID to an authentication server to make a request for authentication. The authentication server authenticates the device ID accepted from the client terminal. When succeeding in the authentication, the authentication server issues and sends a ticket to the client terminal. The client terminal receives the ticket, and then sends the ticket to a locator server to make a request for registration of an IP address. The locator server verifies the correctness of the accepted ticket. When the correctness is confirmed, the locator server registers an ID and the IP address of the client terminal in a manner that they are associated with each other, and replies the completion of the registration.

  • Patent number: 5084734
Abstract: A toner container detachably mounted to a developing unit of a copying apparatus which contains fresh toner to be supplied to the developing unit and also stores used toner thereinto. A partition plate, slidably provided inside the toner container, partitions the container into a first section for containing the fresh toner and a second section for containing the used toner. The toner container is also provided with an outlet for the fresh toner to exit from the first section and an inlet for the used toner to enter into the second section. A transmission mechanism converts the rotation of a developer roller of the developing device into a slide motion of the partition plate, thereby the volume of the first section decreases and the volume of the second section increases in accordance with the operation of the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 4895104
Abstract: A developer reservoir in which a flexible seal member is separably bonded to the circumferential surface of an opening in a bottom portion of a reservoir body containing a developer for sealing the same opening. A portion extended from the bonded flexible seal member is spot-bonded on a plurality of portions of the bottom portion of the reservoir body so that when a considerably large pulling out force is applied to the seal member the seal member is separated first from the spot-bonded portions of the bottom portion of the reservoir body and then from the circumferential surface of the opening of the reservoir body. A sliding cover is also included below the seal member so that the sliding cover can be drawn in a right angle direction to the separating direction of the seal member.

  • Patent number: 4614286
Abstract: A toner container unit wherein an opening part of the toner container unit is sealed by a film-like sheet surrounding a sliding cover. When the sliding cover slides forwardly the film-like sheet is torn off from the opening part of the toner container unit. When the sliding cover slides backwards the film sheet seals again the opening part.

  • Patent number: 4489765
Abstract: A method of supplying a fine-particle powder from a container to an apparatus through an opening therein, comprises causing an engagement portion formed in part of the container to cooperate with an engagement portion formed in the apparatus adjacent to the opening such that the fine-particle powder can spontaneously be moved while the container is maintained stationary. The method may further comprise causing an engagement portion formed in part of the outer machine frame of an electrostatic recording apparatus to engage with an engagement portion formed in part of a container therein, such that the fine-particle powder can be supplied to a hopper through an opening formed in the apparatus adjacent to the engagement portion thereof. The container can thus be positively held and fixed by the engagement of the container with the body of the apparatus, and the scattering and floating toner particles can be completely prevented from leaking out of the outside or inside of the machine.
