  • Patent number: 9428180
Abstract: A failure diagnosis apparatus comprises a controller that is configured to execute a failure diagnosis process of the internal combustion engine based on a predetermined diagnosis requirement. The diagnosis requirement in a case where engine-operation-electric-power supply is executed is made different from the diagnosis requirement in a case where engine-normal-operation is executed such that a failure of the internal combustion engine in the case where the engine-operation-electric-power supply is executed is less likely to be detected or the failure of the internal combustion engine is less likely to be recognized by a driver than in the case where the engine-normal operation is executed.

  • Publication number: 20160186699
Abstract: In pressure increasing control for raising a pressure within a sealed type fuel tank from an excessive negative pressure to a low negative pressure, an opening or closing operation of a sealing valve, when the interior of a vehicle is very quiet, may cause the working noise thereof to be transmitted to a passenger, thereby deteriorating the noise characteristic. When the pressure within a fuel tank is below a predetermined negative pressure near a saturated vapor pressure of the fuel and an interior noise level is equal to or greater than a threshold value, a controller may operate a sealing valve to thereby raise the pressure of the fuel tank to a normal negative pressure region which may be higher than the predetermined negative pressure.

  • Publication number: 20150344023
Abstract: A control unit for a hybrid vehicle determines whether warming of an engine is insufficient in an outside electric power feed mode. When the warming of the engine is insufficient, it is determined whether current time is in an initial period of electric power feed. When the current time is in the initial period of the electric power feed, only electric power of an electric storage device is supplied to the outside in a state that the engine is off. When the current time is not in the initial period of the electric power feed, the engine is turned on, and only electric power generated in a motor is supplied to the outside. When the warming of the engine is sufficient, the electric power generated in the motor, the electric power of the electric storage device, or both of them are supplied to the outside.

  • Patent number: 9188100
Abstract: The invention relates to a control apparatus for a hybrid system that output engine drive force and electric motor drive force, and selectively performs an engine operation mode in which at least the engine is operated, and an engine operation stop mode in which engine operation is stopped. In cases where release of vaporized fuel captured in a vaporized-fuel capturing/releasing device is required, when the engine is being operated, release of vaporized fuel is started if there is no abnormality in the vaporized-fuel capturing/releasing device, and operation of the engine is continued to release the vaporized fuel until condition for terminating release of the vaporized fuel is satisfied; and in cases where release of the vaporized fuel is required, when the engine is not being operated, operation of the engine is started and release of the vaporized fuel is started if there is no abnormality in the vaporized-fuel capturing/releasing device.

  • Publication number: 20150175008
Abstract: Vehicle is configured to supply power to outside of a vehicle. Vehicle includes an engine, a battery, a first MG configured to generate power with use of motive power of the engine, a switching unit configured to switch power supplied to outside of the vehicle between power generated by the first MG and power stored in the battery, an ECU configured to control the switching unit, and a detection unit configured to allow the ECU to determine whether or not the vehicle is located indoors. When the ECU determines that the vehicle is located indoors based on an output from the detection unit, it controls the switching unit so that the power supplied to outside of the vehicle to be switched from power generated by the first MG to power stored in the battery.

  • Patent number: 8528528
Abstract: A vaporized fuel processing device includes a discharging passage having a canister and connected to a fuel tank, the discharging passage being provided with a stop valve and a relief valve that is opened when the pressure in a fuel tank is out of a first pressure range. A vaporized fuel processing device performs a purge flow detection process when the pressure in the fuel tank is within a second pressure range included in the first pressure range. On the other hand, the vaporized fuel processing device opens the stop valve when a purge is being performed, the frequency of performing the purge flow detection process is small, and the pressure in the fuel tank is out of the second pressure range.
