  • Publication number: 20210008850
Abstract: A process for the production of a polymeric article directed to (a)forming apply having successive layers, namely, (i) a first layer made up of strands of an oriented polymer material; (ii)a second layer of a polymeric material; (iii)a third layer made up of strands of an oriented polymeric material, wherein the second layer has a lower peak melting temperature that of the first and third layers; (b)subjecting the ply to conditions of time, temperature, and pressure sufficient to melt a proportion of the firsts layer to melt the second layer entirely, and to melt a proportion of the third layer, and to compact the ply; and (c)cooling the compacted ply. The resultant articles have good mechanical properties yet may be made at a lower compaction temperature than articles not employing the second layer, leading to a more controllable manufacturing process.

  • Patent number: 10138451
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel culturing apparatus (assembly) which can be termed a cell culture dish. More particularly, the present invention is a “combined cell culture dish” or “dish-in-dish” apparatus comprising at least one smaller cell culture dish fixedly positioned within a larger cell culture dish, and the number of such fixated cell culture dishes can include a multiple number of fixated cell culture dishes within one another, either concentric or eccentric, in any number of geometric shapes, and without limitation to the number of petri dishes included. An alternate embodiment of this invention can include a plurality of cell culture dishes juxtaposed side-by-side having common interior well walls, and the well walls may or may not be different in height depending on the application.

  • Patent number: 9834750
Abstract: The present invention departs from using traditional modes of cell-to-cell communication and concerns exerting influence on a first cell or cell population by bringing a second cell or cell population into proximity with the first cell population without the use of mediating diffusible factors. Cell to cell communications traditionally occur by way of a variety of mechanisms including, for example, by direct coupling through gap junctions using antigen presentation or using ligand receptor interactions.

  • Patent number: 8535161
Abstract: An interactive video game is provided on a video gaming system in which one or more sports teams having individual players compete in a simulated sporting event that has a set of rules enforceable by an official. A method of operating the video game includes allowing a user to control the actions of the official in enforcing the set of rules by manipulating a controller to provide input data, processing the input data and comparing the input data against a reference set of appropriate actions of the official, and assigning a performance grade to the user based on the comparison of the input data against said reference set of appropriate actions of the official. In this manner, the officiating skills of the user may be evaluated against a reference set of appropriate officiating calls or rulings involving the actions of the individuals in the simulated sporting event.
