  • Patent number: 7799344
Abstract: Methods are provided for coating crystalline microparticles with an active agent by altering the surface properties of the microparticles in order to facilitate favorable association on the microparticle by the active agent. Type of surface properties that are altered by the disclosed methods include by electrostatic properties, hydrophobic properties and hydrogen bonding properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 14, 2006
Date of Patent: September 21, 2010
    Assignee: MannKind Corporation

  • Publication number: 20090312102
Abstract: A handheld video game system provides a music video game including a guitar simulation. Operation of the handheld video game system is designed to simulate, to a certain extent, the playing of a real guitar. The handheld video game system typically includes a touch sensitive screen, whereby certain actuation and stroke motions made along the surface of the touch sensitive screen are processed by the handheld video game system as simulated guitar strums. Sets of criteria are implemented by the handheld video game system to determine whether a particular stroke motion is processed and registered as a valid strum.

  • Publication number: 20090305782
Abstract: Methods and systems for alternating rendering of information of a common display for a video game are provided by identifying certain data relating to a scene as belonging to a first layer and identifying other certain data relating to a scene as belonging to a second layer. Rendered information of each layer are captured in memory, and rendered information for each layer are used for two successive video frames.

  • Publication number: 20090172659
Abstract: Methods for updating video game software or handheld game devices, and systems for performing the methods. In some embodiments a first handheld game device with a later version of a game update software of a second handheld game device with an earlier version of the game.

  • Publication number: 20090170598
Abstract: A handheld device and peripheral, and game using the handheld device and peripheral. The peripheral includes user inputs, with the peripheral interfacing with the handheld device by way of a handheld device memory port, for example a memory port generally configured for use with game cartridges.

  • Publication number: 20090088247
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for streaming of audio data of separate streams in at least two different formats. In some embodiments handheld game devices are in wireless communication and a first of the handheld game devices streams audio data during game play to a second of the handheld game devices. In some embodiments the audio data includes audio data from a plurality of streams of audio data. In some embodiments the streams of audio data include streams of audio data in different formats, generally different compressed formats, some of which may be selected based on whether a device includes circuitry specifically configured to decompress audio data in a specific data format.

  • Publication number: 20080260838
Abstract: A composition is disclosed comprising glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) particles in combination with diketopiperazine (DKP) that is stable both in vitro and in vivo. The composition has utility as a pharmaceutical formulation for treating diseases such as diabetes, cancers, and obesity but is not limited to such diseases or conditions. In particularly, the composition has utility as a pharmaceutical formulation for pulmonary delivery.

  • Publication number: 20050021001
Abstract: A catheter for use in delivery or withdrawal of a formulation, wherein the catheter has an outer layer comprising a bio-compatible material and a barrier layer comprising a material that provides a more effective barrier than the outer layer against inward and outward diffusion of substances that may cause destabilization of the formulation. The outer surface of the barrier layer contacts at least a portion of the inner surface of the outer layer. The catheter may include a flared distal end tip to aid in the release, during a bolus delivery or catheter flush, of any obstruction situated at the distal end tip of the catheter. The larger cross-sectional area at the flared distal end tip minimizes the chances that any obstruction that develops at the distal end tip will be sufficient to hinder the flow of the formulation within the lumen of the catheter.
