Abstract: A fastening system and method includes a deformable connecting member configured for being connected at one end to a skull flap of a patient who has undergone a craniectomy procedure, and at the other end to the skull of the patient. In this manner, the skull flap is attached to the skull in a manner allowing limited movement of the skull flap. This allows for relief of intra-cranial pressures for patients having undergone a craniectomy procedure. The connecting members are made of a material which is biocompatible with the patient.
