  • Patent number: 4599091
Abstract: Flywheel driven, ram compressed briquette forming apparatus having a density determining split die and pneumatically actuable die clamp. The improvement comprises an improved ram housing having a plurality of access covers opening to the ram bearings, oil seals, scraper rings, split die and other wear susceptible components. Further features include provision for water cooling the die, maintaining a constant oil pressure at the bearings, separating the oil seals from primary and secondary segmented ram scraper rings, increasing the crosshead sliding surface area, to oil cooling the ram, and all of which taken together facilitate briquette production and prolong the maintenance cycle.

  • Patent number: 4111273
Abstract: A terminal tractor for maneuvering a trailer having a fifth wheel component in a confined area has front and rear wheeled sections pivotally connected via an intermediate section for steering the tractor by articulation of the front and intermediate sections relative to each other. The articulation pivot in combination with the fifth wheel pivot connection between the tractor and trailer allows the trailer to be parked by backing with relatively little longitudinal movement of the trailer required. The intermediate section is connected to the rear section by an oscillating connection for allowing the rear section to rotate with respect to the front and intermediate sections along a generally longitudinal axis to allow all of the tractor's wheels to maintain road contact while traveling on irregular road surfaces. The fifth wheel plate of the tractor may be selectively raised to lift the forward ground support of the trailer above the road surface to allow rapid repositioning of the trailers.

  • Patent number: 4101144
Abstract: A trailer having a rear central guide post and primary rear load carrying wheels which can be elevated to transfer ground contact to caster wheels and lower the trailer bed so that the trailer can be readily maneuvered while the trailer is backed on the caster wheels to assist in properly aligning the trailer beneath a leg-mounted pallet frame for containers having a center guide slot for receiving the guide post, whereupon the primary wheels are lowered to lift the pallet frame free of the ground for transport on the trailer.

  • Patent number: 4053072
Abstract: A container transport system in which a trailer has primary rear load carrying wheels which can be elevated to transfer ground contact to caster wheels and lower the trailer bed, and in which a leg-mounted pallet frame has a center guide slot into which a central guide post at the rear of the trailer is maneuvered while the trailer is backed on the caster wheels to assist in properly aligning the trailer beneath the pallet frame, whereupon the primary wheels are lowered to lift the pallet frame free of the ground for transport on the trailer.

  • Patent number: 3957401
Abstract: The pump assembly comprises means defining a fluid retention chamber having an inlet opening and an outlet opening therein, and check valve means adjacent the inlet and outlet openings, which are operative to limit the fluid flow therethrough to relatively inward and outward of the chamber, respectively, when there is a fluid pressure differential thereacross. The pump assembly also comprises hollow pulse generating means in the chamber, having a volume of less than that of the chamber, but including a normally contracted, resiliently flexible portion which is responsive to a fluid pressure pulse in the hollow of the pulse generating means, to flex in relation to the normally contracted condition thereof. It also comprises inpulsing means which are operative to impart a fluid pressure pulse to the hollow of the pulse generating means, to cause the flexible portion of the pulse generating means to flex and impart a fluid pressure output pulse to a fluid medium retained in the chamber.
